Mike joined Lawhon in 1997 as a Project Manager/Estimator. He began his career with Duke Energy in 1982 as an engineer in the Construction Division. He held positions of increasing responsibility within Duke before being promoted to the position of Manager of Construction for the Gulf Coast and Mid-Continent areas in 1992, a position he held until leaving to join the Lawhon organization in 1997. In January of 2017 Mike became Vice President of Lawhon Construction.
The St. Joseph, Missouri native graduated from Missouri Western State University in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Engineering Technology and from Northwest Missouri State University in 2004 with a Master of Business Administration degree.
Mike served on the Building and Fire Prevention Code board of appeals for the City of St. Joseph. He additionally serves as a member of the Properties board at his church, is a member of the Construction Engineering Technology Advisory Board at Missouri Western State University, and is past President of the St. Joseph Construction Association.
