Robert Goodie Chief Estimator for Essential Estimating is a graduate of Syracuse University School of Architecture. Before attending Syracuse, to get a broader scope of his profession, he combined studies in Fine Arts, Urban Planning, Business and Architectural Technology at Alfred Tech, Arizona State, and the Architectural Association in England.
Since graduating, Mr. Goodie continued his desire for knowledge unique in the construction industry. He got hands on experience in construction estimating and project management in upstate New York and later in Massachusetts. This meshing of “inside” work experience pertaining to construction general contracting costs and his formal architectural training gives him the tools to analyze design problems from a different perspective. He also has extensive field monitoring with regards to costs in all sub-contract trades. His clients often include cost consulting for other architects, owner project managers as well as public agencies, attorneys, general contractors and developers.
Mr. Goodies’ personal construction cost experience is vast in both size and type of projects. He has estimated and bid thousands of projects from small $ 200,000 additions to $ 150+ million dollar complexes totaling over 3.2 billion dollars. Project management includes retail store projects, industrial plants, prisons and schools. Mr. Goodie takes pride in his ability to still maintain priority and commitment to a strong visual statement in design work in order to produce a quality piece of architecture within a budget for his clients. His design experience includes office buildings, university buildings retail and recreational facilities, renovations, additions, single and multi family homes.
