I learned from all of the wonderful tradesmen that worked for my dad as I had an inquisitive mind – I wanted to know how things worked and went together.
In college I studied construction management which was an early program in colleges in the 1970s. After college I returned to the family business and worked as a carpenter and eventually became the construction manager and superintendent. At the height of our business, we were building 30-35 houses a year and developing a subdivision in Kenner.
In 1976, I started my own company building custom houses while still working in the family business. By 1982, my dad retired and I devoted myself full time to my own construction company and was able to procure my first Savings & Loan / Bank contract. Today I continue to build residential homes and commercial projects both new construction and remodeling.
Jaymar Construction is a certified ICF contractor for both residential and commercial construction.
