Scope Of Work

The new Crete Carrier Diesel Technology and Welding Center at Southeast Community College’s (SCC) Milford campus is an immersive, immersive laboratory and instructional facility for students seeking hands-on training for careers in diesel mechanics and welding. The 54,000-SF specialized facility includes seven bays for diesel instruction on agricultural equipment; nine bays for diesel truck instruction; 30 bays for welding instruction; and multiple classroom spaces for instruction on engines, hydraulics, transmissions, components, and standard and large engines. 

The project helps SCC create much-needed capacity to meet existing demand for specialized technical professionals while also establishing a center to provide training on advanced and emerging technologies. Built from the ground-up, we encountered and successfully mitigated challenges including adverse weather conditions that threatened the schedule; abnormally high precast demand and lead times; and preparing early bid projects to facilitate on time project completion. Our ability to manage these and other challenges on this project led to a successful completion that was on time, within budget, and allowed SCC to begin instruction at the beginning of the spring term.
