Scope Of Work
California Institute of Technology - Dabney Hall of the Humanities was built in 1928 with original architectural design by Goodhue Associates and was the home of Caltech’s humanities department.
The scope of work of this project involved the historic preservation, rehabilitation, complete renovation and seismic upgrade of the 31,100 SF, 3-story plus basement Dabney Hall building. The first floor consists of a library with a spiral staircase to basement stacks, a treasure room and administrative offices. The second floor contains a large lecture room above the library and smaller classrooms with more seminar rooms on the third floor. DAC provided project management, field operations construction and self performed concrete work.
The project took place while the University was in session, so minimal disruption to the students and to the
faculty was of key importance.
