Michelle began to develop her leadership skill at the age of 23. She assisted various construction and fabrication firms in their start-up phase. While assigned to supervising crews, she additionally implemented key management policies, procedures and ensured compliance with state and federal guidelines.
Upon accepting a position with a sheet metal manufacturing firm, Michelle played a critical role in establishing and overseeing her department's ISO-9000 policies and procedures. She was instrumental in developing new departments, managed procurement, contracts, logistics, and directed the HR function.
Michelle has over 15 years of experience in the metal fabrication and construction management fields.
She is an active member of NAWIC (National Association of Women in Construction); Michelle was the 2011 Chairwoman of the Board of Directors for the Greater Augusta Regional Chamber of Commerce and in 2006 was honored with their "Entrepreneurial Spirit" Award. In 2009 she initiated and chaired a new committee for the Chamber "Industrial Round Table".
Michelle and Valley Industrial Piping, Inc have been featured in the Virginia Construction Journal, Crossroads Business Magazine, and the News Virginian series – Woman in Business "Valley Powerhouses".
