Our Story

Lux Lighting Design is a full service lighting and interior design company dedicated to providing the ultimate in creative and functional designs for residential and commercial projects. Custom lighting designs are produced with the client’s needs foremost. Interior and outdoor lighting designs are created with unity of the project’s appearance in mind. Lux Lighting Design is driven by owner and principal designer, Doreen Le May Madden, who has dedication to lighting excellence and passion for beauty in lighting.

Doreen Le May Madden, Founder/Designer of Lux Lighting Design, is renowned in the design industry for using state of the art proven technology for creating beautiful, functional and efficient lighting environments. She is a nationally Certified Lighting Designer and has received numerous awards from many organizations for Excellence in Lighting Design. Doreen has served as a judge throughout the years for local and national technological and architectural competitions and has been a popular speaker at conferences for IES, BSA, ASLA, IIDA, ASID, as well as other special events. Doreen is also a Certified Sustainable Designer and has created interiors for both residential and commercial project. Clients appreciate the diverse knowledge that Lux brings to projects and the renowned creativity and timeless looks Doreen Le May Madden is known for creating.

Doreen Le May Madden, founder of Lux, has received numerous awards over the years for Excellence in Lighting Design from the Illuminating Engineering Society and GE Lighting for her commercial, residential and exterior lighting projects. ConTech Lighting awarded her Outstanding Creative Lighting Designer. Doreen is the recipient of all Silver and Gold PRISM awards from the Builders and Remodelers Association of Greater Boston and Cape Cod for Innovative Lighting Design over the past years.

AFFILIATIONS

Doreen is currently the National Chair for Residential Lighting for the IES. She is also on the IES Healthcare and Hospitality committees. She is a member and certified with the American Lighting Association and the National Council of Qualified Lighting Professionals. Membership also includes Boston Society of Architects, American Society of Interior Designers, International Interior Design Association, International Association of Lighting Designers, Builders and Remodelers Association, and the Green Hotels Association.

MEDIA/TV/RADIO

Doreen’s innovative and timeless lighting design was showcased on PBS’ “ This Old House” Watertown MA project. She has been a guest on Martha’s Vineyard Plum TV “ Morning Show” numerous times and has had radio interviews with WMAL , PBS, Spotlight, and NEREJRadio, to name a few. She was interviewed and her work was featured in - “Perspectives on Design in New England” as a leading design professional by Panache. She was also interviewed and published in the book “Creating Curb Appeal” for her major contribution to the Lighting Chapter by Schiffer publications.
