We bought an Intex above ground pool. My friend recommended that I contact Steve to find out about pool chemicals. He spent plenty of time explaining how to set up the pool and keep it chemically clean, even while we would be gone on vacation. He wrote out detailed instructions for me and our pool has been fantastic.
Okay, I think I have been getting Aqua Quip and Aquatech confused but honestly it's okay because in my experience, neither of them is too great.
We bought a new house and it has a pool, and neither Julian nor I has any idea how to take care of a pool. So I was calling around, looking for someone to come clean our pool, and continue doing so on a regular basis. I called Aquatech and they could not give me an answer about whether or not they could come or when, but said they'd call me back. So I kept calling around till I found and hired someone else (he's awesome, see my other reviews if this is something you're looking for).
A few weeks later, I got a bill in the mail. It was for over a hundred dollars from Aquatech - apparently, without calling, they came and cleaned the pool and set me up for regular pool cleanings. Maybe this was my bad for not calling back and telling them I hired someone else, but seriously? Just come do the job without confirming and then bill me? Kind of uncool.
The product/sales specialist, Steve, is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He has spent countless time helping find, purchase, and use the right products for our camp pool. I have been to quite a few businesses and we spend way less at Aquatech because they don't sell us the extras that aren't necessary. Thank you!
I never write reviews, either good or bad but feel compelled to write this one.
Today, I had my pool heater ignitor replaced for $150 by an independent pool contractor. Last year, I had the exact same thing done by Krisco and they charged me over $600.
That's all, just writing this to let others know that you need to shop around and I will never use Krisco Aquatech again. There are better pool hardware maintenance companies out there, but look for the smaller ones (like Comet and Independent Pool and Spa) as I have been shafted by ALL of the big ones who overcharge AND do shoddy work, which is a nice combination...
Stay away from the big companies, including Masterpools (thank goodness they are out of business), Aqua Quip, Aqua Rec's and Krisco. It's amazing the lack of integrity with these companies and it's been a very expensive lesson to me.
Just wanted to emphasize the same things pretty much already posted here. We bought a new house with a hot tub that had been through 2 months of deferred maintenance. We knew we needed to replace some bearings in the pump and the tub had to be drained/cleaned/refilled/chemicals added. This was the company the previous owners used, so we used them. They were fast about getting a technician out there, but the bill was high. I asked for a maintenance bid but also obtained other bids from two other service companies. Krisco Aquatec was $190 MORE a month than competitors - for a 4 person hot tub. I'm glad we asked our neighbors for referrals for other companies.
