Our Story
The Beginnings
After serving our Country in WWII, brothers Charles and Walt Rohrer started a ready-mix concrete company. Walt left the company shortly after its founding and Charles carried on as sole owner. The cornerstone of the ready-mix concrete company began after WWII to help better support the community.
1960’s-70’s
After serving Vietnam, alongside his new bride Linda Rohrer-Cope, Tucker Cope, (Sr.) started driving a ready-mix concrete truck for Rohrer’s Builders & Supply. During their involvement, the company expanded to include two more ready-mix plants and tripled their truck fleet in size.
1980’s
Following a personal injury and the down turn of the economy, Tucker C. (Sr.) was having a self-reflective night when he noticed these “wrinkled tin boxes” and thought maybe, just maybe, these would be the future of modern construction. The idea was due in part to the complaints from the masonry contractors. This resulted in Rohrer’s Builders & Supply being sold and C. Tucker Cope & Associates was developed to form a niche in the metal building market.
1990’s
The company continued to grow with the addition of a sales team and solidifying its direction of a metal building contractor. Long standing partnerships with MAC Trailer, Terry’s Tire Town and Ohio Pet Foods were formed.
2000’s
After many hours of Engineering school and hands on work in the field, Tucker C. (Sr.) turned over leadership of the company to his son, Tucker C. (Jr.). This transition helped lay the foundation for a true ‘Design Build’ construction firm which has resulted in the engineering team doubling in size and the implementation of a Drafting department.
2010’s
As the economy continued to be in a downturn, C. Tucker Cope & Associates sustained its position within the industry. It was during this sluggish time in our country’s history that CTC completed numerous complex projects totaling over 250,000 sf. In 2014, BIM was introduced into the company and every project.
The Future...
As technology advances, CTC is well-positioned to continue its legacy as a leader in the Design Build construction industry. CTC continues to grow, develop and train its team of professionals in order to continue to be a driving force in the Pittsburgh and Cleveland market.
