J & J Development, Inc. Custom Homes was established in 1989, but the building experience of Josef Zyskind and John Finch extends back over 50 years.

J & J’s reputation for quality was built on hard work, top notch construction standards, long standing relationships with subcontractors and vendors and personal service before, during and after the sale.

The construction process can be an overwhelming experience for many without the proper guidance.  John and Joe look forward to helping people make this process as understandable and seamless as possible. 

J & J personally schedule and supervise all construction activity and inspect every jobsite daily.  This allows us to maintain the highest level of quality control and responsiveness to the decisions that are made every day.

Josef Zyskind moved from Germany in the early 1950’s to realize a better life for his wife and family.  His uncompromising spirit of integrity is reflected in every home he has built.  The dedication and respect that exists between his workforce, vendors and himself is mutual.  Joe does not entertain outside bids for the sake of cutting costs or building less of a home.  Along with his residential business, Joe has constructed several multi-family and commercial projects throughout the greater San Antonio area.  Additionally, he has remodeled numerous homes for past and present clientele.

John Finch began his career after college in industrial sales.  Shortly thereafter in 1979, he was presented with an opportunity to join Joe, his father-in-law, in the home building business.  After 30 plus years together you could say that he has found his niche.  John will consult with you in every aspect of your project.  This includes site evaluation, plan development and construction supervision.  His understanding of the business along with his patience and organizational skills help to ease much of the anxiety and confusion that can be a part of this business.  He welcomes and encourages open lines of communication throughout the building process.
