Scope Of Work
Nicknamed the “Flashcube” because of its reflective exterior walls, this once vacant, 220,000-SF building is being converted from offices into 184 apartment units. The mixed-use first floor will have 17,834 SF of commercial office space. The existing building has been vacant for more than 12 years and was initially built in the 1970s as an executive office space. It is also on the National Register of Historic Places, and therefore, the building will have a similar look as a nod to its history.
While updates to the building include significant changes to the interior, the iconic exterior, will look the same. The curtain walls will receive complete reglazing to update the building while preserving its historical “late-modern” look and feel. Amenity spaces will include fitness rooms, basketball court, and rock climbing.
Located downtown alongside Kansas City’s Streetcar line, it is targeting urban dwellers for easy access to public transit.
