Greg Palmer's Bio
Greg provides oversight of all operations in Smoot Construction’s Ohio market and ensures the firm’s goal of being a major player in the Columbus area. He works with project management personnel to monitor project performance, ensuring schedule, safety, and quality goals are achieved. As Vice President, Greg plays a key role in defining the firm's strategic direction, cultivating corporate culture, and dedicating time to mentor up-and-coming leaders.
Greg wears many hats — on and off the jobsite. He is always up for a challenge and enjoys sharing his knowledge and excellent planning skills with his colleagues. His passion for everything construction is undeniable and his tenacity is infectious.
Lewis R. Smoot, Jr.'s Bio
Lewis provides direction and leadership for several corporate
initiatives including business strategy and administration,
information technology and computer operations, safety, budgeting and
capital expenditures management, general business policies and
procedures, community and public relations, and EEO. He provides
executive leadership for the water/wastewater division. In this
capacity, he is responsible for both the acquisition of new work, as
well as the execution of day-to-day construction activities.
Lewis also serves as a member of the Corporate Executive Committee and
represents the third generation of leadership for the firm.
Mark S. Cain's Bio
Mark provides executive direction for the firm, including ensuring exceptional client relationships, the acquisition of new work, and daily operations. In his leadership role, he works closely with the company’s regional executives to develop pursuit strategies for new work and to coordinate the allocation of the company’s resources. He also focuses on identifying and proactively addressing risks and opportunities across the organization. A highly-regarded visionary, Mark is a tenacious problem solver, actively engaged in early negotiations and project planning — all the way through closeout. Most importantly, he is thoroughly devoted to cultivating the firm’s corporate culture, and dedicating time to mentor up-and-coming leaders.
Mark’s pride in the company’s reputation for honesty and integrity is absolute; a reputation supported by the belief that corporate responsibility extends well beyond the bottom line.
In addition to his executive leadership role, Mark offers more than 20 years of experience in construction management, project financing and administration, and real estate development to public and private clients on a very diverse range of project types.
Tom Sisterhen's Bio
Tom is an experienced construction professional with nearly three decades of industry experience. He is known for being a hands-on leader, participating in all facets of projects. From estimating project costs to material purchasing and throughout contract negotiations and site mobilization, Tom is fully engaged and enjoys in finding innovative ways to deliver complex projects.
One of Tom's responsibilities is leading the company's K-12 school projects, including Columbus City Schools sub-billion dollar management program and current Construction Management at Risk deliveries. Tom's technical know-how is essential to the success of these projects.
Estimating, Purchasing & Preconstruction
John L. Jones, Jr.'s Bio
John oversees the firm’s core estimating staff, which is responsible for evaluating more than $1 billion dollars of work annually in multiple construction markets. John leads our firm's strategic services that includes sustainable and virtual construction, subcontractor relationships, and ascertaining new work. In addition, he is proactively involved in the design process during preliminary budget development and conceptual estimating.
Known throughout our industry as the “accurate numbers man", John is a recognized leader in determining preconstruction (conceptual and schematic phases) and construction development costs. He maintains ultimate responsibility for the firm’s estimating functions, including planning, assessments, scheduling, master pricing development and management, value engineering, administrative and estimating procedures, software applications, and staff training and education. In addition, he routinely lectures at colleges and universities, and has conducted numerous seminars on estimating.

Adam Wilensky's Bio
Adam provides overall executive leadership for Smoot Construction's Indianapolis region. In this role, he is responsible for the company’s day-to-day operations, including the acquisition and execution of work, and business functions. With nearly two decades of experience, Adam provides executive leadership to support the Indianapolis office’s day-to-day operations, including client relations, safety, and quality.
Adam believes strongly in a hands-on style of leadership,
executing proven methods and strategic solutions to ensure that our
clients' needs are routinely met and the entire project runs seamlessly.
Dana Smoot's Bio
Dana is responsible for leading corporate strategic and tactical legal initiatives. He provides senior management with effective advice on company strategies and their implementation, manages the legal function, and obtains and oversees the work of outside counsel. Furthermore, Dana is responsible for negotiating, writing, reviewing, summarizing, researching, and executing a wide variety of agreements on behalf of the company.
He prides himself on the fact that he serves as a resource for the thorough review and assessment of challenges facing individual projects and the company in general.
Michael Fuller's Bio
A consummate professional with nearly 20 years of experience, Michael offers our clients excellent planning, organizational, and team building skills. He serves as the primary point of contact and continuously reviews the project’s goals and objectives to ensure project success. Michael ensures the work is completed in accordance with the design documents, budget, and schedule.
Michael employs a creative and systematic approach to each and
every project. From the earliest phases, including preconstruction, he
is known for proactively anticipating what needs to be done to
complete a project on schedule, and on budget.
