Scope Of Work
Before this project, Ohio State’s Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) and Office of Distance Education and eLearning (ODEE) were scattered at various sites around Columbus. The vision and goal for the design was to bring together OCIO and ODEE into one space, to provide a flagship facility for the OCIO that is on the same level as corporate peers and to integrate state of the art technology into all areas of the workspace to convey leadership and expertise in the technology industry.
This project is a complete renovation of the existing 75,000 square-foot Mount Hall building on The Ohio State University’s West Campus. The building was converted from a former academic facility to primarily offices and collaboration spaces. There are common building support spaces including a large cafe for staff. Most existing interior walls, partitions and ceilings were removed to create open office space with exposed ceilings; openings were created in the exterior walls to provide views to the outside and bring natural light into the interior of the building.
