IDA CALLAWAY HUDSON LAB SCIENCES BUILDING
Architect: Earl Swensson Associates | Nashville, TN
A new three-story, 43,000-square-foot facility devoted entirely to laboratories.
It houses state-of-the-art spaces for instruction in biology, ecology, anatomy and physiology, chemistry, and immunology.
Also included are faculty and staff offices, student collaboration spaces, and classrooms.
The exterior of the three-story building blends contextually with other buildings on the campus.
CASON J. CALLAWAY SCIENCE BUILDING RENOVATION
Architect: Earl Swensson Associates | Nashville, TN
Renovation of the 45-year-old, 26,000-square-foot Callaway Science Building to create a modern classroom learning environment for science and mathematics students.
The building will continue to serve as classroom space for all the sciences and as a home for Computational Mathematics and Physics.
The facility also includes “soft” learning spaces and community areas where students can gather, compare notes, study, socialize, and interact with their professors outside the classroom.
CAMPUS DEVELOPMENT & RENOVATIONS
Architect: Sizemore Group | Atlanta, GA
The project incorporated campus improvement programs to upgrade a total of 83,000 square feet on campus.
Specific projects include a new 10,000-square-foot maintenance facility, complete architectural renovations of Callaway and Manget Halls, improvements to the bookstore and student center, and new administrative offices in Smith Hall.
Infrastructure improvements include an adjacent parking lot and fire line feed for the campus.
The project concluded with the architectural renovation of Sunny Gables to serve as the residence of the college president.

The cast-in-place post-tensioned concrete frame with steel structure features a multi-media classroom, sound room, media production room, coffee bar, and reference rooms.
