Dan Kubie's Bio
Dan's career in the construction industry began in 1977 as an Assistant Superintendent/Carpenter. He successfully completed a four-year Carpenter Apprenticeship Program, graduating to Journeyman Carpenter. Three successful years in the field created his next advancement, a promotion to foreman overseeing projects in the Dallas / Ft. Worth area.
In 1984, Dan joined MAVCO Construction Co. as a General Superintendent where he oversaw projects and managed the company’s field operations. Ten years in the field at MAVCO prompted Dan to expand his expertise by advancing to an estimating position with another large Dallas general contractor. In 1994 Dan joined Precept Builders where he had the opportunity to construct even larger interior projects, as well as ground up construction. Always eager to keep learning and growing, Dan accepted a position as Project Manager with Highland Builders.

Steve Westbrook's Bio
Steve began his career in the construction industry in the millwork and drywall fields. He quickly advanced to managing projects in the Dallas/ Fort Worth area.
Steve then moved to a national general contractor to focus on larger projects, including the InfoMart project in Dallas. He later joined MAVCO Construction Company, one of the largest and most successful interior construction firms in the Dallas area, where he became a Project Manager/ Estimator.
After gaining extensive construction experience and fine-tuning his managing and estimating skills with other DFW firms, Steve founded Highland Builders, Inc. in March of 1996. Here he has developed a loyal following of clients in diversified commercial genres, and provides a wide variety of construction services. Steve has assembled an exceptional team of respected construction professionals capable of completing quality projects of all sizes, while serving the varied needs of our clients. As President and CEO of Highland Builders, Steve maintains a cohesive professional team with the goal of excellence in everything we do.

Shane Cloud's Bio
When it comes to estimating, your project is in expert hands with Shane Cloud. Shane knows the DFW market as well or better than anyone. He should, he's been studying it for twenty-eight years starting as a Building Construction major at Texas A&M. For the next eight years he wore a tool belt working for an interiors contractor as a journeyman and progressed to Superintendent where he learned the details about the various trades.
In 1990 Shane moved up to Estimator/Project Manager where he excelled because of the strong foundation he built in the field. He joined Highland Builders, Inc. in 1999 in the same capacity and was promoted to Vice President - Estimating in 2005. Over the years Shane has gained experience in every conceivable type of project. From small interior finish-out jobs to huge, multi-floor phased Class-A projects, Shane has done them all including remodels and new construction, interiors and shell buildings.
Shane's technical knowledge, attention to detail and his familiarity and respect for the trades allows him to enjoy exceptionally strong working relationships with our subcontractors and suppliers. His winning personality and outstanding communication skills earn him the respect and recommendations of even our most construction-savvy clients.

Donnie Gerdes's Bio
It has been twenty-six years since Donnie entered the construction business wearing a tool belt as a carpenter/mechanic in the drywall trade. Quickly advancing to Foreman, Donnie gained twelve years experience before moving to a Superintendent position with a general contractor where he learned the ropes of all the trades on a variety of projects.
Donnie joined Highland Builders, Inc. in May of 1997 where he quickly became the "go-to" superintendent for our largest and most challenging projects. He developed a reputation for excelling in quality while meeting or beating the construction schedule, and consistently delivered projects with short punch lists and satisfied clients. In 2005 Donnie was promoted to his present position as General Superintendent in which he oversees HBI's entire field operation, trains superintendents and administers our exceptional safety program.
Donnie is known for providing calm, steady leadership while solving challenging problems with innovative solutions. His dedication to customer satisfaction is second to none. He has received numerous commendations from our customers for delivering excellent projects on time and hassle-free. The same qualities that have earned Donnie our customers' praise have also earned him the respect and cooperation of our subcontractors. Donnie knows how to foster teamwork among all the parties on a project and, accordingly, he receives very high marks on our subcontractor satisfaction surveys.
