Leona M Comer-Hill's Bio
Leona M. Comer-Hill is Vice President & Secretary of Comer Construction, a women-owned general contractor company recently named as one of the Top 25 Construction Companies in the Greater Baltimore region.
Daughter of J. Marvin Comer, the original Founder of J. M. Comer Construction, Leona joined the company in 1986 to assist in the day-to-day operations. In 1998, Leona and her two sisters purchased the assets of J.M. Comer Construction and started Comer Construction, Inc.
As Vice President & Secretary, Leona oversees the company operations, maintenance of the equipment and truck fleets and recycling and mulch divisions. A resident of Harford , Md., Leona is certified by the Virginia Department of Transportation in Mix Aggregate; received training by the Maryland Center for Environmental; and completed courses in School of Risk Control, CPR and First Aid.
Linda Susie Comer's Bio
Linda Sue Comer (Susie), is President & Treasurer of Comer Construction, a women-owned general contractor company recently named as one of the Top 25 Construction Companies in the Greater Baltimore region.
Susie has been with the company since its inception in 1982 by her father, J. Marvin Comer, as J.M. Comer Construction. Susie served as President of the company for 16 years, before purchasing the assets of the company with her two sisters to start Comer Construction, Inc. in 1998.
As President & Treasurer and Director of the Estimating & Project Management Divisions, Susie’s vast knowledge of the construction industry and commitment to the community are contributing factors to the overwhelming success of the company.
Susie has always acknowledged a mission to invest heavily in the local community by providing employment opportunities to local residents and encouraging advancement opportunities for current employees. She continues to expand the company’s role as a leader in the construction industry by providing customers with the highest level of quality construction services at market competitive prices.
Susie is a respected leader in the construction industry and the community as a role model and committed supporter of the advancement of women in business. Susie is a member of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO).

Matthew A. Scarff's Bio
Matthew A. Scarff is Chief Estimator with Comer Construction.
Matthew has been with the company for more than six years. In his role as Chief Estimator, Matthew oversees the estimating process for all project bids; establishes bidding procedures; and directs all estimating activities, such as budgeting, staff scheduling and development, training, performance evaluations and departmental goals.
Prior to joining Comer Construction, Matthew served for 18 years as an estimator for a contractor in Bel Air, Md.
Matthew has two children and currently resides in Harford County Md.

Dorothy J. Kuzora's Bio
Dorothy J. Kuzora is the Human Resources Coordinator with Comer Construction.
Dorothy has been with the company for more than 12 years. In her role as Human Resources Coordinator, Dorothy oversees all Human Resources-related activities, including employee relations, new employee orientation, and communication of all related policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations. Dorothy also assists in the company’s recruiting, selection and hiring activities, in addition to managing the company’s Accounts Receivables and Information Technology.
Dorothy resides in Harford County, MD with her husband Keith.
Timothy D. Kaptein's Bio
Timothy D. Kaptein is the Director of Safety with Comer Construction.
Timothy has been with the company for more than eight years. In his role as the Director of Safety, Timothy is responsible for the planning, implementation and management of policies, procedures and programs to reduce and eliminate occupational injuries and illnesses. Timothy also develops the company’s accident-prevention and loss-control systems and programs, and ensures the company is in strict compliance with all safety-related contractor requirements.
Prior to joining Comer Construction, Timothy served as the safety manager for a national building and civil construction firm based in Maryland.
Timothy received his Bachelor’s Degree in Safety Sciences from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP).
Timothy resides in Baltimore County, Md. with his wife of five years and their two children.
