Born and raised in Vero Beach, and being around construction most of his life, it isn’t a shock that Matthew Barth pursued a career in construction. After graduating from Vero Beach High School in 2003, Matthew earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Building Construction Management from the University of North Florida in Jacksonville in 2007.
After graduating, he joined Clark Construction Group, LLC on a large project based in San Antonio, TX. As the Assistant Project Manager, he worked on a 1.7 million square foot parking garage at the San Antonio Military Medical Center. After completion, Matthew moved to Chicago with Clark Construction where he worked as an estimator. He was a part of several winning awards. All of the experience attained working for Clark Construction, accompanied with years of growing up within the industry have led Matthew to where he is today. He is very happy to be back in his hometown of Vero Beach and looks forward to building on the Treasure Coast for years to come.
When he is not working, Matthew enjoys traveling, boating, fishing, snowboarding and outdoor sports. He's an avid sports fan and one item on his bucket list would be to attend a Liverpool Soccer game in England.

Before returning to Florida Mike built a few high-end custom homes in the DC Metro area. Once in Florida, Mike oversaw the construction and renovation of a few country club projects on the East Coast before joining The Johnson Group. As a Senior Development Manager, Mike was tasked with executing the rollout of a $200MM self-storage pipeline in the SE Region before being pulled up to the hotel development arm of The Johnson Group.
Phil and Matt are very excited to have Mike join the team in January of 2019 to lead the commercial side of the business. Mike is married with two children and enjoys spending time on their boat, playing golf and tennis, and shuttling the kids to their sports events.

I would like to welcome you to Barth Construction and tell you a little bit about myself. I was born and raised here in Vero Beach and I am a graduate of Vero Beach High School. During my summer breaks, I would work with my father in construction in Cape Cod and in Vero Beach. After graduation, I attended the University of Florida, where I studied engineering and received a Bachelor Degree in Building Construction in 1975. That same year, I obtained my Florida Certified General Contractor’s License.
My first career job was with Fluor Engineering and Constructors in Los Angeles, where I worked as a cost and scheduling engineer. After that I was assigned to a Grass Roots Oil Refinery located in Esfahan, Iran. I remained on site from 1976 through completion of the project in 1978. After our time in Iran, my wife and I traveled for 3 months through India and Southeast Asia. Upon returning to the States, I worked for Kaiser Engineering on a Taconite Plant Renovation in Silver Bay, MN.
Growing tired of the cold weather, we moved back to Vero Beach in the summer of 1979 and I began working as a Project Manager for Croom Construction. I worked there for the next seven years, before establishing Barth Construction, Inc. in 1987.
Since opening our doors in 1987, I have managed the construction of numerous, high-end custom homes on the Barrier Island, as well as commercial projects in Indian River and St. Lucie counties.
My wife, Allyson, and I have been married since 1976 and have two children. My daughter, Kelley, works at the Indian River Medical Center, and our son Matthew now works here at Barth Construction. I love to travel and I enjoy fishing, motorcycles, sailing, sporting clays, and watching the Florida Gators! Go Gators!
