About Amcon

James Burkemper, Patrick Gannon and Timothy Menning formed Amcon Corporation in 1972. All three were former project managers at Opus Corporation where they were responsible for the design and construction of commercial and industrial building projects. Amcon was established with the purpose of providing design/build construction services utilizing in-house design staff. Mr. Burkemper served as company President and Manager of the Milwaukee office.

Since its inception, Amcon has grown by providing design/build and construction management services to a range of clients, including manufacturing, industrial, real estate developers, corporate office and warehousing, retail and others. Many of these projects were performed on a repeat basis.

Amcon Corporation was one of the original firms that provide construction management and design/build services. Virtually all of Amcon’s projects include providing complete project management services during design and construction phases. This assures the client of a complete building package, customized to fit the client’s specific needs.

In 1997, due to the retirement of Tim Menning and Pat Gannon, the operation in Minnesota was sold to the employees in that office. Mr. Burkemper purchased the office in Wisconsin and remains as President. Since 1997, Amcon Design and Construction Co., LLC has completed over $50,000,000.00 worth of construction, ranging in project size from a 4,000 sq. ft. pre-school to an 180,000 sq. ft. shopping center.

Our staff currently includes Architects, Designers, Engineers, Project Managers, Construction Superintendents and Administrative Staff.

Our main lines of business include: Building Alterations, General Contractors.

Amcon Design & Construction has been listed in the Blue Book since 2004.
