Founded in 1959 as Function Homes by Saylor, we incorporated in 1969 as Saylor Building Company. Every day, we follow founder Jack Saylor’s slogan to be “The Builder Who Cares” in all areas of construction services: new home building, single-family remodels and renovations, multi-family construction, land development and commercial construction.
  
As a second generation builder/developer/general contractor, we have experience in many facets of real estate development. From small additions and remodels to custom homes over 10,000 square feet, from renovation of bank-owned single family homes to completion of a private golf course’s 5,000 square foot clubhouse, from acquisition, finance and development of raw acreage into single-family neighborhoods to design/build with non-profit CDCs on city lots, from 1,000 square foot commercial white-box build-outs to a complete overhaul and modernization of a 34,000 square foot commercial facility, we are uniquely qualified to serve the broad construction service needs of southeast Michigan.
  
Since 2001, we partnered with several local CDCs to build high-quality, affordable and energy-efficient new homes and remodels in many local areas including Warren, Hazel Park, Keego Harbor, Pontiac and Flint.
  
One particularly fun project was partnering with the Oakland County School District’s Southeast Technical Campus to build two new homes in Hazel Park. Over forty students from seven local school districts were able to help build these new homes and in doing so, they learned construction skills first-hand on the job.
