Scope Of Work
SAMMC-N is the acronym for San Antonio Military Medical Campus North. The scope of work represents the requirements for a United States Air Force (USAF or AF) Military Construction (MILCON) Design/Build Project for a 13,000 square foot (SF) state of the art Fire Station. The Fire Station is composed of three main types of functional areas: Apparatus Bays (the high bay area where the fire trucks are housed), a Residential area (where firefighters sleep, shower, eat and relax) and an Administration area (where the offices and training rooms are located, it is the only area accessible by the public). Special foundation work will be required to support the fire fighting equipment; high efficiency gas fire type boilers air-cooled package chillers and variable flow refrigeration fan coil units will enhance the energy efficiency of the Fire Station. This facility is designed to support firefighter's mission to protect lives and the San Antonio Military Medical Campus (SAMMC), to include the Warriors in Transition (WIT) rehabilitation complex and WIT lodging facilities.
