Scope Of Work

Completed ahead of schedule and on budget, this 10,000 square foot brick building is designed to provide a space with all of the specific functions and amenities the South Berwick Police Department needs to do their job for the community. Upon completion of this project, the Police Department was able to move their offices from the basement of the Town Hall after decades of sharing space.

The focal point of the new building is the booking area, which was designed to be safe and clean, allowing for proper and efficient management of the booking process. The nearby evidence processing room was constructed to be able to contain modern equipment that allows for safe processing.

Ballistics-grade drywall, windows, and doorframes provide an extra layer of security in areas like the lobby.

The administration part of the building is zero-energy, running on zero fossil fuels. It is extremely well-insulated and includes features such as triple-pane windows and extra insulation on the roof. Outside areas of the building, such as the garage, use propane just to operate small heaters.

Throughout the duration of the project, the AlliedCook team worked closely with the Police Chief and Lieutenant to ensure that the building would meet the department’s needs.
