Bob has over 60 years' experience in the construction field. The company was started by Mario Ghia, Bob's father, in 1930. Bob started as a carpenter, and took over the company in 1969. Since then, Ghia Construction Company has completed industrial buildings up to 52,000 sf, office buildings up to 22,000 sf, churches, schools, medical and veterinary facilities, and a few large residences. Bob has a diploma from Chicago Technical College in building construction and architectural drafting. He has been a member of Associated Builders and Contractors since 1970. He also served on the Board of Directors from 1971-1972 and 1978-1980, and he served as Chapter President in 1974. Bob still oversees the day to day operations of Ghia Construction and makes sure to visit all jobsites daily to ensure details are being tended to and each job is progressing as it should. He is very "hands on" and is in constant communication with Job supervisors to address any and all concerns that should arise.
