Scope Of Work
As part of its contract with the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, Mobile District, TYLI was retained to provide Project Programming and RFP Development for the design-build construction of an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Facility at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida.
The fast-track project comprised building design and site development, including utilities and supporting facilities. TYLI met all EOD facility requirements, resulting in a durable, low-maintenance building with the most efficient and functional layout, highest energy efficiency, and low operating costs.
PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS:
TYLI’s project oversight included all architecture, structural engineering, civil engineering, mechanical and electrical engineering, and fire protection engineering services.
The EOD facility accommodates 18 full-time personnel and three government vehicles, with spaces for administrative offices and training, conditioned storage/shops areas, and garage bays for private- and government-owned vehicles.
Site improvements included paved parking with an area for a required turning radius.
Administrative areas called for private and open office areas in a standard office environment. The training and maintenance areas met special requirements specific to the EOD facility’s needs.
