Our Story

Possessing first-hand experience in construction throughout several continents, licensed professional engineer Raymond Wu brought his international education and experience to the formation of Wu & Associates in 1990.  With a focus on building construction, Mr. Wu built the foundation of the company upon the successful bidding of general contracting opportunities in the public sector.   Through a culture of persistence and hard work ethic, Wu & Associates achieved 8(a) certification with the U.S. Small Business Administration and secured its first multi-million dollar contract by the end of its third year.

In 1996, Wu & Associates welcomed Kirby Wu to the management team.  Complementing his father’s engineering background, Kirby brought a unique blend of architecture and business education to the continued development of the firm.  For several years to come, the company would expand its existing portfolio of federal and military clients to include projects in the higher education, municipal, and historic preservation sectors.

In 2008, Wu & Associates achieved a major milestone with the award of a $22 million design-build project to LEED sustainable standards, a company first in many respects.  The success of the project would help fuel the company’s growth into a new age of differentiation, exercised through the breaking of boundaries both in practice and in thought.

Today, Wu & Associates has a national reach with contracted territories across the United States and completed projects throughout the northeast.  Embracing change as a key component of long-term growth, the company continues to set an example for what great accomplishments can be had with visionary thinking, determination, and unparalleled skill.
