Scope Of Work
Based on our work with Brycon in Reno, NV we were asked to help out at the Intel site in Octotillo, AZ
After conducting an Organization Perception Assessment, we worked with Brycon management to identify three focus areas:
- Increase leadership alignment and teamwork
- Develop leadership skills of foremen
- Improve to weekly Field Leaders Meeting (for lead-hands, foremen, superintendents and construction managers)
We conducted a one-day Align and Commit workshop for all site leaders (foremen and above) and identified three actions each leader could take on a daily basis to improve employee engagement and reinforce the Brycon culture.
We delivered a six-week Front-line Leaders Development Program for twenty-four foremen, including classroom training and in-the-field coaching.
We created custom documentation and materials for Brycon management to use during weekly Field Leaders Meeting to increase interaction, engagement and sustain the change started during the Front-line Leaders Development Program.
At the end of our work, Brycon had made a series of improvements to daily team meetings, relying on individual superintendents and foremen to lead their crews. The client reported increased effectiveness and satisfaction with weekly Field Leaders meeting.
"Its been a long time since we've done this sort of leadership development work -- and I've really enjoyed it. I think I had gotten a bit stale with the way I do my job. This program has me feeling re-energized; I'm seeing things differently." - Superintendent
"The whole focus has been on getting our people to think. I've definitely learned new ways to engage people -- and hold them accountable for their work." - Foremen
"The Humanus folks have a way of connecting with people that you don't usually see with consultants. They spend their time out in the field, listening to people, getting folks to open up. I've been impressed by how quickly they've figured out what's going on here and how we can do better." - Construction Manager
