Flintco opened our Denver office in 2018 and Steve Eikanger joined the company as Vice President Area Manager of our Southwest Region, which includes Colorado and New Mexico. In July 2020, Steve was promoted to President of Flintco’s Southwest Region. Steve’s broad experience in operations, preconstruction, construction technology and Lean/Integrated approaches led him to the Flintco opportunity. Steve chose Flintco, because “I wanted to join a company that had the same drive as I do to improve our industry,” he said. “Flintco has it.” His Colorado portfolio includes Healthcare, Hospitality, Cultural, Education, Office, Multi-Family and Resort projects.
Steve is active in our industry and in his community. Brent Farmer is a Flintco leader who considers his principle duties as helping our people grow professionally and maintaining long-standing relationships with clients. As Vice President Area Manager for Flintco in our Arkansas office in Northwest Arkansas, Brent has seen tremendous growth in both the region and those from Flintco who call it home. Brent arrived in Springdale in 1999 and worked his way up to his current leadership role. He has experience at every level of construction and enjoys all aspects of our industry. However, he takes the most pride in building strong relationships with owners who consistently bring Flintco their repeat business.
“We hire good people to do quality work and it’s fun to be part of that,” Brent said. “Working with a high performing team is the key to our continued success, and I’m inspired every day to roll up my sleeves and do what we have to do to get the job done for our clients.” One of the Flintco projects that helped shape Brent’s early career was construction of the high school for Rogers Public School District, which in 1999, “help set the stage for what was to come for Flintco in Arkansas.” Brent is excited by the “Build Arkansas 51” campaign celebrating our first Flintco construction project in the state in 1951.

Dave Kollmann's Bio
Dave Kollmann is President of the Central Region – operations in Oklahoma City, Tulsa and Arkansas – and is known for bringing high energy to his role. Dave celebrated his 25th anniversary at Flintco in 2019 and considers himself fortunate to work alongside three area managers who each have more than 20 years of tenure with Flintco. Being part of the development of many individual careers is a particularly rewarding aspect of his work, Dave said.
The renovation and addition of Boone Pickens Stadium at Oklahoma State University (Dave’s alma mater) is a source of pride. He recalled a comment from the stadium’s benefactor: “As Boone Pickens said early on: This isn’t going to be the largest stadium in the country, but it’s going to be the nicest.” Dave added, “Boone’s comment is in line with my strategy of quality in everything we do – client service, preconstruction and construction services.” The design-build joint venture that added a dome to the Oklahoma Capitol is another standout in Dave’s Flintco portfolio. Dave points to our annual work with a team of Navy SEALs: Acumen Performance Group (APG), as pivotal in the evolution of Flintco’s culture.
Over the years, Dave has consistently volunteered with many civic and business-related causes, including Big Brothers and Big Sisters, which makes a difference “one child at a time.” Dave joined the Oklahoma Business Roundtable in 2015 where he currently sits on the executive committee; supporting economic development at the State level. In addition to golf, Dave enjoys scuba diving with his two adult sons who are part of his blended family that also includes his wife and three more children.
Dave graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Construction Management.
J.W. Stamison's Bio
J.W. Stamison is passionate about forging genuine relationships with those he works with, as well as the clients and communities in which he serves. As Vice President Area Manager for Flintco in the Denver office, J.W. has been instrumental in establishing the team and work program in the region, based on these relationships. His personal background is a blend of fourth-generation construction and agricultural ties in Colorado and the surrounding region. His family’s roots in construction, coupled with his agrarian values, result in a true appreciation for hard work and tangible results. This fabric dates to his family’s legacy in building such monumental projects as the Eisenhower Tunnel on the I-70 corridor in the Rocky Mountains and many of Denver’s downtown high-rises.
J.W.’s involvement in one of the region’s most aggressive fast-tracked construction projects remains a baseline for knowing what is possible in our industry. Serving on a team that built out a ground-up $83M, 10 story Biosafety Lab and MOB facility in 12 months while enduring the blizzard of 2006 was a success that fortified his appreciation for teamwork and relationships in the industry. The team motto for that project was, “What our minds can conceive, our determination will achieve”. This was a challenge that all stakeholders bought into and it set a framework for J.W.’s leadership style. Embracing Flintco’s Ethos and love for continuous improvement has allowed him to elevate his career experiences and help realize a clear vision for the Southwest Region’s Flintco team.
Leveraging more than 20 years of professional experience throughout his career in the region, J.W. serves multiple civic capacities in the community including the St. Anthony Heath Foundation and Board Emeritus for a select group of Denver’s young leaders.
Joel Lester's Bio
In 2020, Flintco named Joel Lester as General Manager of our Houston office. Joel brings 22 years of Houston construction experience in Higher Education, K-12, Manufacturing and Office. Joel said his focus moving forward is twofold: continue attracting and developing staff and increasing market share in those sectors where Flintco has gained traction in Houston – Parking, Municipal, Higher Education and Industrial. “Finding the right private development partner and landing an anchor project that helps us diversify and keep growing staff and developing careers is in the mix, too,” he added.
Joel believes strongly that “unless we are training our replacement, we are not doing our job,” he said. He enjoys working with staff helping them reach their career goals, which in turn means building a stronger company. “Our business has become more dynamic with technology and more efficient processes,” Joel said. “Attracting and retaining top talent remains a priority.” He described his decision-making process as “trust but verify. Talk to everyone involved and know your options. Then decide. Don’t let an issue sit for long.”
Joel points to the Calhoun Lofts for the University of Houston as a standout project in his career portfolio of work – a $100 million, 550,000 SF, 984-bed graduate and professional student housing complex. He described his first impression of Flintco as a “honest, ethical and customer-driven company – character traits that should be more common, but often are not. Flintco’s drive to be on the cutting edge of our industry is impressive and helps explain the success we’ve had for more than 100 years.”
Joel said he is looking forward to working with Flintco Industrial to create more opportunities for self-perform work, is excited by how Lean2.0 delivers real value to customers and helps to differentiate Flintco and identifying off-site construction opportunities. Joel holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction Science from Texas A&M University. He and his wife are active in the St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church with two children ages seven and nine who are also active in sports. The family supports Westbury Little League and Target Hunger.
Kirk Mammen's Bio
Kirk Mammen celebrated his 25th Anniversary with Flintco in 2019 – five years after being named Vice President Area Manager based in our Oklahoma City office. With all the responsibilities that come with his role, working to develop successful teams is what Kirk enjoys the most: hiring and retaining top talent, working together to overcome challenges, developing new client relationships and strengthening existing ones. Taking the time to get to know the men and women who are putting the work in place is fundamental to how Kirk approaches his work at Flintco.
The satisfaction of working together as a team to overcome challenges and produce something of tangible significance lies at the core of what attracted Kirk to the construction industry. The renovation of the historic Skirvin Hotel in downtown Oklahoma City stands out among the many Flintco projects on Kirk’s resume. The building’s artistry – ornate plaster work, exterior details in stone and elaborate wood trim (features that have mostly disappeared in contemporary construction) – made the project unique and a gratifying experience for Kirk.
Kirk earned a full athletic scholarship in wrestling to Oklahoma State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management Technology and was a 4-time All American. He serves on an advisory board for the Oklahoma City and the Edmond chambers of commerce, and volunteers with the Oklahoma City Warriors, a non-profit organization that uses wrestling as a vehicle to teach life skills to disadvantaged youth. Kirk lives in Oklahoma City with his wife where they raised two children.
Russ Peevy's Bio
Construction is in Russ Peevy’s blood. As a 3rd generation construction professional, he points to the famous Mark Twain quote to describe his career at Flintco: “Find a job you enjoy doing, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” His active engagement in all facets of our business is a model for career development as he leads a team of 100-plus in Tulsa following his promotion in 2020 to Vice President, Area Manager. Russ said he is looking forward to working with more of Flintco’s extensive client base in the Tulsa area, and growing his community involvement in his new leadership role.
Russ joined Flintco in 2005, earning multiple promotions working in Flintco’s Austin, Tulsa and Houston office, which he helped establish in 2017 before returning home to Tulsa. “I’ve had so much mentorship and coaching along the way,” Russ said. “It gives me great confidence knowing that I can deal with any challenge that comes my way. Flintco is like that – we’re a large company, but very supportive of our people in helping advance careers.”
Russ remembers his first project with Flintco – a “design-build, messy renovation” of Garrison Hall completed in 2007 for UT-Austin. That project was a proving ground for both Flintco in Austin, helping to establish a long-term relationship with the University that continues today, and for Russ and his “very young team that had a lot of energy.” More recently, Russ helped secure Parking Garage #5 with the University of Houston – the first major project for our Houston office, which is on track for completion in early 2020. “It was exciting to be in a new city with a joint venture partner and a new team to secure a major project with a new client,” Russ said.
Russ remains active in the Tulsa community, coaching youth sports and participating in the Bixby High School Tennis Booster Club. He’s served as a Sunday school teacher at Asbury Methodist Church, a “Watch Dawg” at Bixby North Elementary and on the board of the American Red Cross. Russ enjoys spending most of his free time with this wife and three children – two girls and a boy – and the occasional round of golf or trout fishing when he can find the time!

Trent Gudgel's Bio
As General Counsel for Flintco, Trent Gudgel has practiced Construction Law for most of his career and particularly enjoys the complexity of construction projects: many different elements, multiple parties working toward a common goal, with a variety of complex legal issues that he considers a professional challenge to overcome. He follows a win-win philosophy to reach a collaborative “yes” when negotiating through an issue.
Trent works to streamline contracting with his in-house legal team using cloud-based technology that allows project teams to expedite the execution of owner contracts, and the Subcontract Requisition System (SRS), which gives project teams the ability to quickly generate and execute subcontracts with trade partners in a uniform, consistent and timely basis. Both technologies support productive working relationships with our construction partners.
When Trent relocated to Austin in July 2019 from our Tulsa office, he gave up long-standing commitments with local non-profit organizations, including Family & Children & Services, the premier provider of mental health and counseling services to more than 100,000 families in northeast Oklahoma each year. He also served on the Board of Directors of Influencers Tulsa, a discipleship ministry for men, where he volunteered for nine years. Trent is looking forward to getting involved with other philanthropic and socially significant organizations in the Austin area. “My personal philosophy is to serve in the community I live in because I feel like I’ve been given so much,” Trent said.
Trent enjoys regular exercise, sailing, golf with snow skiing being his favorite activity away from the office. Spending time with his wife and four adult children is another favorite pastime. Trent holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance, and dual post-graduate degrees from the University of Oklahoma – a Juris Doctorate and an MBA.
