Our Story

The BrickKicker is celebrating our 30th Anniversary in 2019.  We have successfully helped over 100,000 residential clients with the potentially the most important purchase of their lives.  25 years ago we began to offer commercial property inspections.  No in 2018, we average about 180 commercial projects annually.  Historically these services have been provided by Engineers and Architects.  These consultants have a strong focus on their specific disciplines but, using The BrickKicker will provide a more rounded experience as we have the ability to review all of the systems and components in a building and can communicate our observations and findings more effectively.   There are many home inspectors beginning to enter this marketplace but The BrickKicker has been here for over 25 years.  Leading the industry and training the industry both locally but also nationally. The challenge with hiring a home inspector who also offers commercial inspections is experience.  Only The BrickKicker can provide the list of experience and expertise.

Our experience includes:  (over 1.9 million square feet inspected in 2017 -2018)

  • Industrial
  • Manufacturing and Warehouse
  • Medical Office
  • Office Buildings and Condos
  • Apartment Buildings
  • Lodging - Hotels/Motels
  • Strip centers and malls

Each project begins with an interview.  This process allows us to customize our process and scope to meet the specific expectations of each client.  This also allows us to be extremely competitive with our pricing.  Our inspection fees are typically based on square footage and not purchase pricing or type of building.

The BrickKicker is a proud member of the Certified Commercial Property Inspections Association (CCPIA) and a routine contributor to their ongoing training programs and educational offerings.  The CCPIA has established the industry's most comprehensive inspection Standards of Practice called: ComSOP.  This creates an excellent inspection product for our clients.  This standard includes the inspection of:

  • Site review
    • Paving, Landscaping, Utilities, Topography
  • Structure Frame
  • Roof Surfaces
  • Fenestrations
  • Plumbing systems and components
  • Electric systems and components
  • HVAC systems and components
    • Heating, Cooling, Ventilation systems
  • Visual review of the Life Safety and Fire Protection
  • Installed Interior Elements
  • Document Review (if supplied)

A copy of this standard can be provided upon request.
