George R. Oliver's Bio
George R. Oliver is chairman and CEO of Johnson Controls. Prior to becoming CEO on Sept. 1, 2017, he served as president and chief operating officer with responsibility for the company’s operating businesses and leading the integration of Johnson Controls and Tyco following their September 2016 merger.
Oliver previously served as chief executive officer of Tyco and as a member of its Board of Directors from September 2012 through the September 2016 merger with Johnson Controls. He joined Tyco in July 2006 as president of Tyco Safety Products and assumed additional responsibility as president of Tyco Electrical & Metal Products from 2007 through 2010. He was appointed president of Tyco Fire Protection in 2011.
Prior to Tyco, Oliver had a more than 20-year career with General Electric (GE), where he served in operational roles of increasing responsibility in several divisions, including as president and chief executive officer of GE Water and Process Technologies and president and chief executive officer of GE Engine Services, as well as previous leadership roles in GE's Aircraft Engines and Appliances divisions.
Oliver serves on the Board of Directors of Raytheon Company, a technology and innovation leader specializing in defense and other government markets throughout the world. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, where he serves as a member of the Board of Trustees.
Grady L. Crosby's Bio
Grady L. Crosby is vice president of public affairs and chief diversity officer of Johnson Controls. He is responsible for leading Johnson Controls’ government relations strategies, sustainability efforts and its philanthropic initiatives for social responsibility, community involvement and the environment.
As chief diversity officer, Crosby drives Johnson Controls’ commitment to creating a diverse and inclusive workforce, as well as partnering with a diverse vendor/supplier base aligned with company values. He also serves as president of the Johnson Controls Foundation.
Crosby joined Johnson Controls in 2011 as vice president and global general counsel for the Power Solutions business. Prior to joining the company, Crosby held positions with Hanesbrands, Inc., National Textiles and Sara Lee Corporation.
Crosby holds a Juris Doctor from Wake Forest University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Howard University.
Michael Bartschat's Bio
Michael Bartschat serves as chief procurement officer (CPO) and vice president of the Johnson Controls Operating System. As CPO, Bartschat leads an integrated global procurement function that leverages scale and optimizes the cost and value of purchased materials, products and services.
As vice president of the Johnson Controls Operating System, Bartschat leads the majority of the functions in the JCOS, including engineering, procurement, manufacturing, supply chain, and environment, health & safety. He also has overall responsibility for the continuous improvement and real estate functions.
In addition, Bartschat is the integration leader for the merger between Johnson Controls and Tyco. In this role, he is responsible for realizing growth opportunities and delivering the value inherent in the combination of the two companies.
Bartschat joined Johnson Controls in 2004. Prior to being named CPO, he served as group vice president and general manager of product group metals and mechanisms in the company’s Automotive Seating business. Before that, Bartschat led the global product group trim and fabrics, driving the expansion of this automotive business into Asia. Earlier in his career, Bartschat held roles in operations and plant management, marketing, strategic planning and engineering. He also holds a U.S. patent in robotics.
In the community, Bartschat serves on the board of trustees of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and has led fundraising efforts for Children’s Hospital of Michigan.
Bartschat holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from MIT and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Carnegie-Mellon University.
William C. Jackson's Bio
William C. Jackson serves as vice president and president, Global Products, Building Technologies & Solutions.
Global Products includes the legacy Johnson Controls Building Efficiency global products organizations, Johnson Controls-Hitachi, and the global legacy Tyco Fire Protection Products, Security Products and Life Safety Products businesses. Independent product sales channels will also report into the Global Products organization.
Previously, Jackson was president of the company’s Building Efficiency business.
Jackson joined Johnson Controls in 2011 as executive vice president of operations and innovation, responsible for leading business unit transformation across the company. He also previously served as president, Automotive Electronics & Interiors, and in 2013, was named executive vice president, Corporate Development.
Prior to joining Johnson Controls, Jackson worked for 20 years as a consultant, most recently serving as senior vice president and board member of Booz, Allen & Hamilton and Booz & Company. Early in his career, he worked as an engineer and program manager for Lockheed (formerly General Dynamics), researching composite materials for fighter aircraft applications.
Jackson is a board member of Metaldyne Performance Group. He also serves as the chairman of the Engineering Board of Visitors at the University of Illinois.
Jackson holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago.
