Dietmar Kruger, who had emigrated from Germany to live the “American
Dream”. He completed a vigorous apprenticeship which lasted 3 years at
the age of 17 and headed west. Shortly after his arrival to the United
States, he was drafted into the US Army and sent to Metz, France where
he proudly served this country for 3 years.
Upon his honorable
discharge from the US Army, Dietmar headed west to Hollywood where he
would establish Ardsley Construction Company.
Armed with skill and knowledge, Dietmar began knocking on doors in
the Hollywood Hills, offering basic carpentry and construction
services. His first job was a guest house with a subterranean garage
in Hancock Park. From then on, word spread about this “creative
genius” whose motto was “the project was not complete until the Owners
were 200% satisfied”. He was licensed and bonded in 1967 and
established Ardsley Construction Company out of his apartment in
Hollywood until he could afford to rent space in Santa Monica.
Dietmar Kruger’s son, Stephan, joined Ardsley Construction Company in
1990 and learned first-hand Dietmar’s unique method of construction.
Stephan trained for 10 years before being handed over his first
project. From then on, Stephan has successfully completed many
beautiful remodels, additions and new construction from the rave
reviews of his clients. Stephan now runs all of the projects under the
watchful eye of Dietmar.
At Ardsley Construction Company, we believe in understanding the
needs and wants of our clients. We are happy to assist in any way that
we can to bring our client’s imagination to life. We are celebrating
our 50th year of business in 2017 and invite you to peruse some our
projects in the Photos section of our website.
