Becky joined Horizon in 1999 and became an owner/partner in 2015.

As President, she is responsible for running the day-to-day operations of Horizon’s entire portfolio by effectively overseeing the managers, and ensuring the buildings operate effectively and efficiently, and within budget. She works in the development of the company’s strategic direction to expand and secure new business.

Before becoming President, Becky worked as a Compliance Specialist, Compliance Manager, Director of Compliance, Director of Operations and Vice President.

She holds a TaCCs™, COS, TCS and CMH certifications and an Associate’s Degree in Business from Madison College.

Curt joined Horizon in 2015.  As the company’s CFO, he oversees all company accounting functions, while maintaining high production and quality standards for all accounting operations.  In addition, he is responsible for the company’s financial relationships and determining the financial feasibility of investment opportunities and overseeing the closing process for debt and equity.

His past experience includes working as a Senior Manager at SVA Certified Public Accountants, S.C.  Curt has more than 20 years of experience in the real estate industry with a focus on the Section 42 tax credit, historic tax credit, and new markets tax credit programs, including working on transaction structuring and underwriting various real estate projects.

Curt holds a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, from the University of Wisconsin – Madison.

Dana joined Horizon in 2004 became an owner/partner in 2015. As Director of Shared Services, Dana provides leadership, planning and management for the development, acquisition, implementation and support of human resources, information technology, support services,  and training/development for the company. Her previous work experience includes safety and labor relations, employee relations and recruitment at TDS Telecom. Dana holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources from Upper Iowa University and PHR certification.

Daniel D. Fitzgerald is a principal, CEO of Horizon Develop Build Manage and President of the development and construction divisions. With Horizon since 1999, Dan also leads the business development efforts and has been involved in many of Horizon's residential, commercial and hospitality projects.

As President, Dan’s responsibility is to help clients achieve their goals via Horizon's comprehensive design, development, and construction processes. Dan will ensure that the assigned team has the proper resources to exceed your expectations and deliver a high quality end product on-time and on-budget.

Dan has been an active member of the Wisconsin Assisted Living Association since joining in 1999. He is a member of the Verona Area Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Committee and has served on the Big Box Task Force, appointed by the Mayor of the City of Verona. Dan is also active with Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA), where he was appointed to serve on the Tax Credit Advisory committee. Dan also participates in the Economic Development Committee for Downtown Madison Inc. to provide feedback relating to the City of Madison Downtown Plan, Economic Plan, and Zoning Code Rewrite Advisory Committee. Dan was recently recognized by In Business magazine as one of Dane County’s “Forty under Forty” for his professional and civic accomplishments.

Dan received his Bachelors of Business Administration degree from the University of Wisconsin – Madison with majors in Real Estate and Finance. He graduated from The Dale Carnegie Training Institute and is a licensed broker and registered member of the REALTORS® Association of South Central Wisconsin, Inc.

E. Jay Gering is a Principal and Vice President of Construction, responsible for quality control, safety, and operations within the Horizon Construction Group.

E. Jay’s duties include facilitating the construction group’s safety program, OSHA compliance, risk management, and warranty process. He also oversees quality control and daily operations of the construction group, including project management, coordination, and field supervision.

E. Jay is a constant presence throughout each construction project, working closely with the pre-construction team from the bidding and pre-planning process through the execution and completion of the project.

E. Jay has attended the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse for business, the Clemson University Supervisors Academy, and Moraine Park Technical College. In addition, he has completed a journeyman carpenter apprenticeship program, holds his Journeyman Carpentry License, and oversees job-site safety as a 100 OSHA Safety Technician.

As an active member in his community, E. Jay has volunteered his leadership abilities as a Mayville Alderperson and as a member of the Mayville Athletic Booster Club.

When not working, he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, golfing, and riding his motorcycle.

Mick Hintz, Principal and Director of Pre-Construction Services, oversees the firm’s estimating and pre-construction services. With more than 30 years of industry experience in both development and construction, Mick leads the company’s efforts in estimating, contract review, and design coordination for both internal and third-party development projects. His experience in a variety of project types allows him to assist clients from the initial concept phase and throughout the design.

As the Director of Pre-Construction Services, Mick is responsible for the maintenance of budgets and historical cost data, sales, consultant meetings, managing the transition of projects to the construction and operations team, and creating design standards for Horizon Development Group, Inc.

Prior to joining Horizon in 2012, Mick was an Estimator and Project Manager, and Director for a large Hospitality Developer working on projects around the country.

Mick has participated in several organizations including the Associated General Contractors of America, World Waterpark Association, and IAAPA.

As a Principal and Vice President of Construction, Ryan oversees all of the pre-construction, budgeting, and project management services for each Horizon construction project.

Ryan’s primary responsibilities include leading the project team in attaining budget requirements, which ensures a competitive buyout process. He also guides clients throughout the construction process from the conceptual development stage, including cost-estimating, phasing, and site logistics, through final construction and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.

Prior to joining the Horizon team in 2004, Ryan’s career included roles as a construction project manager, estimator, and project engineer for projects in both the private and public sectors.

Ryan is involved in numerous national organizations, including the Design Build Institute of America, Associated Builders and Contractors, Construction Management Association and the National Association of Home Builders. He received his Bachelor of Science in Construction Management with a Minor in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin Platteville.

Scott Kwiecinski joined Horizon in 2003 and serves in a leadership and project management role on Horizon’s development team. Scott procures new opportunities for housing development aligning with Horizon’s core competencies, including a variety of affordable and conventionally financed projects. Whether a Horizon project or partnership with a non-profit, for-profit, housing authority or other agency, Scott and his team advance projects based on documented goals and a systematic development process.

Scott has worked on new construction, rehabilitation, and redevelopment projects with housing authorities, nonprofit agencies, and various investor groups. His experience includes LIHTC development, HUD transactions, Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) conversion, and other layered programs in affordable housing.

Scott received his Bachelor of Business Administration – Finance from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and Master of Business Administration – Real Estate and Urban Land Economics from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. He is a Licensed Real Estate Salesperson.
