Scope Of Work

The PHM Group was brought into the project at the schematic phase by Universal Healthcare Systems to participate in an LEAN" project delivery methodology. which is a modified design /build type process. PHM initiated the subcontractor Requests for Proposals utilized for soliciting major subcontract participation. The project utilized a close team approach between UHS, PHM, the design team, and major subcontractors to develop schematic budgeting and to maintain that initial budget through the construction phase, which also included an accelerated construction schedule. The project was the build out of the new Heart Center, in existing first floor shell space within a major addition completed by UHS for Manatee Memorial Hospital. The project included four new Cath Labs, a Nuclear Medicine suite, pre- op and post-op recovery areas, and other ancillary spaces required for the new Heart Center. stand alone addition consisted of two floors. The first was a 25,000 sf Obstetric Unit, complete with six state of the art Labor/Delivery/Post-Partum Rooms and four Post-Partum Rooms designed to be upgraded to future LDRP Rooms. This floor accommodated all support services designed to serve the Obstetric Unit, including one C-Section Room.
