David A. Nice Builders, Inc.

David learned the building trade “hands-on” from his father, Louis B. Nice, who was the founder of Nice Brothers, Inc, one of the largest building firms on the peninsula in the 1960s.

David’s construction experience encompasses all aspects of the building trades from residential to large commercial projects, with a strong emphasis on retail build outs. He is actively involved in day-to-day operations, from the bidding stage through completion throughout all divisions of the company. His hands-on approach and commitment to quality solidify long-term relationships with clients.

Deborah, alongside her husband David, has been with the company managing and overseeing all administrative operations since the beginning in 1975. Deborah brings a strong background in business administration to the company. Along with her fiscal duties, she works very closely with David in the general overseeing of all operations.

John started with the company in 1992, and has been heavily involved with the company’s growth in the retail and commercial markets. He is also vice-president of Nicewood Enterprises, Inc., a sister company of David A. Nice Builders, Inc. Nicewood provides high-end fixtures/millwork, as well as rollout programs for a wide variety of clients.

John oversees all retail construction projects. He manages the DNB retail construction team, made up of project managers, assistant project engineers, account managers, and bid teams. John’s 20-plus years of experience in the retail market, along with his hands-on approach in managing both areas of retail construction and fixtures, provides a stabilizing force for all projects.

Linda has been with the company over 23 years and works very closely with owners in all aspects of office operations and management, as well as overseeing the entire Accounting Department. Her vast accounting experience comprises not only the accounting, but also the licenses and taxes required in our multi-company, multi-state operation. She oversees the entire commercial insurance package and the annual renewals, as well as the bonding program.

Mike has over 15 years of extensive experience in construction estimating.  At David Nice Builders he is responsible for all estimating and is the Webmaster of our web-based bid document distribution center and in charge of the digital input and plan distribution.  In addition, Mike serves as designer for preliminary architectural layouts and works with Architects, Owners, Sub-contractors, and Vendors to produce finished projects as well as serves as a project manager on specific jobs.

Brandon, like his father David Nice, has grown up in the construction business, having experience in all aspects of construction. Brandon has had a passion for this business since a young age, and has the drive and skill that is required for this trade. He is well versed in all divisions of the company including retail, commercial, site and fixtures. He is currently managing the local and site divisions of the company. Brandon knows construction, has a strong sense of urgency, and most importantly builds and maintains strong client relationships.

Jim has over 25 years of experience in retail and commercial construction management. He is a proactive project manager with diverse talents.  Jim is skilled in assessing requirements, determining priorities, analyzing the necessary course of action and making adjustments to ensure a peak efficiency and optimal performance on all projects. 

Mike Schuster brings to our company over 30 years of construction experience.  Mike started his construction career as a carpenter in commercial construction and later in positions’ as a retail superintendent, operations manager, and estimator. He has worked for our company starting as a superintendent and then quickly moved into the office as Project Manager. Mike has for the last 20 years specialized in retail tenant build outs for our national retail accounts. Mike has gained the respect from some of the top retailers in the industry. His strengths are his attention to detail, project construction knowledge, and his relationship with clients. Mike is compassionate about each and every project, is very hands on, and fully engaged to ensure that each project meets the client’s expectations.

Kim has been with the company for over 20 years and assists with the management and administration of all areas of the company focusing heavily on retail construction and marketing. Kim ensures that the policies, procedures, and client satisfaction are met within the company; she is an integral part of the future growth and success of both David A. Nice Builders, Inc. and Nicewood Enterprises, Inc.

Skip started working with David Nice Builders in 1993 in our millwork shop. He quickly learned the millwork & fixturing side of the business, and became Plant Manager of our Sister Corporation, Nicewood Enterprises. During his time at Nicewood, he had the opportunity to work out in the field as well, learning commercial construction. In 2007, he transitioned from Nicewood Enterprises over to David Nice Builders as a field superintendent and most recently has transitioned into our local general superintendent that oversees all local projects. Skip has vast experience with all divisions of the company, from site work, supervising large complex government projects, building fixtures, finish carpentry and managing high end ground up commercial projects.
