Daniel Avila has lived in Santa Fe since 1988, preferring the
community-minded feel of a smaller city. He delights in the simplicity
of traditional architecture, and the juxtaposition of wood, adobe,
saltillo, and other natural materials. Daniel has 25 years experience
in the building field, and 19 years experience leading skilled teams.
Daniel learned all elements of construction from the ground up,
having starting as a crew member himself. His first job was as an
apprentice to his uncle, a master carpenter, making fine cabinets,
doors and tables. He later worked as a framer and a roofer, and then
in stucco and foundations. In each element of building he saw how
attention to detail at every level ensures success for the finished project.
Daniel believes in doing things right the first time, and he commits
to staying engaged until his clients are satisfied. His personal
interests are in energy efficient and green building, and in helping
to manifest each client’s dream construction, from single-item finish
work to building custom homes from the ground on up.
The variety in complexity and types of projects make his work his
favorite pastime.
