Dan McShane's Bio
Dan serves as Chief Strategy Officer & General Counsel for The McShane Companies. In his role, he coordinates strategic planning and risk management strategies while overseeing the company’s legal matters on a national basis and provides in-house legal advice to the firm, offering guidance in the strategic decision-making process.
Dan previously served as an Associate in the Real Estate Department of Chicago-based Winston & Strawn, LLP. He attended Colgate University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Psychology, and the University of Notre Dame Law School where he earned his Juris Doctor, Cum Laude.
Jim McShane's Bio
Jim McShane is the Chief Executive Officer of Cadence McShane Construction Company. He established the firm in 1996, upon the acquisition of The Cadence Group, a general contractor with offices in Dallas, Houston, Austin and San Antonio. Under his leadership, Cadence McShane has earned a prestigious reputation as a premier provider of construction management, design-build and general construction services on a local, regional and national basis.
The growth of Cadence McShane is the result of strategic interest in serving the K-12, healthcare, distribution, manufacturing, office, multi-family, retail, hospitality, institutional and higher education markets by providing unparalleled expertise in project management and on-site field supervision. Cadence McShane has established itself as one of the nation’s most respected construction services firms through its reputation for high quality projects and outstanding client service. Jim continues to focus on geographical expansion and market scope penetration to enhance the firm’s growth on a national scale.
Jim graduated from Marquette University with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering and is a Registered Professional Engineer in Illinois, Wisconsin and Minnesota.
Molly McShane's Bio
As Chief Operating Officer, Molly provides day-to-day leadership and management of The McShane Companies, focusing her efforts on long-term strategic growth and operational excellence.
Molly consistently delivers innovative thinking on behalf of a wide range of projects, markets and geographical areas. During her long-standing tenure with the McShane organization, she has held a variety of positions within the construction and development businesses. She has focused on a wide variety of product types and, as a result, possesses extensive knowledge of the industrial, multi-family, office, healthcare and commercial market sectors.
Srinath Pai Kasturi's Bio
Srinath Pai Kasturi provides executive leadership, operational management, and extensive sales expertise. He oversees the Central Texas division of the firm and works directly with the firm’s executives at each of the offices to expand the organization’s presence in major markets. Srinath is involved in both short- and long-term planning for the firm, participating and contributing to the overall direction and growth of operations.
Srinath has been in the construction industry since 1997 and joined Cadence McShane in 2002, he provides leadership and executive oversight of the professional construction personnel. He confers with the project team as needed to meet project objectives. Srinath is the ultimate decision maker on any client issue and executes the project contract.
Srinath is a graduate of Manipal Institute of Technology where he earned a Bachelor of Architecture. He also attended The University of Oklahoma where he received his Master of Construction Administration. He is certified as a LEED Accredited Professional by the U.S. Green Building Council.
Will Hodges's Bio
Will Hodges has been in the construction industry since 1989 and assumed the role of President in 2012, charged with the overall leadership of operations. He is focused on the strategic growth of the firm while maintaining a commitment to its customers and employees which has been a hallmark of Cadence McShane.
Will’s goal for Cadence McShane is to expand its role as a trusted business partner with the firm’s customers by understanding their business as well as their building needs and serve as an impartial advocate during the entire project. He firmly believes that it is Cadence McShane’s responsibility to simplify the process for customers and offer a handcrafted project delivery process that fits their specific needs.
Will sees that the true strength of Cadence McShane is in its people. Cadence McShane has a legacy of hiring great people, training them and providing opportunities to lead. Estimating, Purchasing & Preconstruction
Surbhi Usrey's Bio
As Director of Preconstruction and Estimating for Cadence McShane Construction, Surbhi provides leadership and direction for comprehensive preconstruction requirements for numerous projects in the Central Texas Office.
Surbhi performs the lead role in all phases of preconstruction for a wide range of project types and market sectors. Surbhi has been in the construction industry since 2006 and is responsible for the preparation of preliminary budget development, cost estimates, value engineering as well as constructability reviews.
Surbhi attended the School of Planning & Architecture where she received a Bachelor of Architecture. She also attended University of Pittsburgh where she received a Master of Business Administration.
Operations
Colby Rose's Bio
Colby Rose is responsible for the management of the firm’s project personnel and support teams, the development and expansion of new business opportunities, and the strategic planning and execution of the firm’s growth within its key market sectors for the Houston region. Colby’s wide range of professional experiences include construction assignments within the warehouse/distribution, food processing, office, multifamily, healthcare and education market sectors.
Colby joined Cadence McShane in 2008 and quickly demonstrated his skillful construction management strengths through the successful completion of numerous high-profile and diverse construction projects on behalf of the firm. In 2015, he was hand-selected to lead the Houston office as Vice President where he oversees the implementation of Cadence McShane’s overall strategy and vision that furthers the firm’s growing portfolio of project accomplishments. His ability to enhance relationships with both current and new clients propelled his rapid rise to the executive level at Cadence McShane.
Colby is a graduate of Texas Tech University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Construction Engineering Technology. He is also certified as a LEED Accredited Professional by the U.S. Green Building Council.
Craig A. Morris's Bio
Craig Morris is responsible for creating conceptual cost estimates, developing preliminary designs with architectural and other design disciplines, subcontract negotiations and contract awards, project accounting, and implementing the Cadence McShane Quality Assurance Program and Safety Program on each project.
Craig has been in the construction industry since 1978 and joined Cadence McShane in 1988. He manages a professional staff of construction personnel responsible for all activities required in the design and construction of K-12, higher education, institutional, healthcare, office, multi-family, retail, hospitality, distribution and manufacturing projects. Craig is also responsible for assisting with the development and acquisition of new project opportunities while training and mentoring the project management staff.
Craig attended Texas Tech University where he received a Bachelor of Business Administration and minored in Construction Technology.
David B. Tague's Bio
David Tague provides growth and leadership for Cadence McShane’s expanding housing market sector focused on broadening the firm’s construction opportunities within the multifamily, senior living and student housing markets. David oversees the firm’s on-going multifamily and senior living residential projects and is responsible for seeking opportunities for the development of new construction throughout Texas and the south central region.
David possesses market rate, luxury rental construction experience and a heavy concentration of expertise within the senior living sector. His senior living expertise includes the turnkey construction of numerous large scale senior communities including independent, assisted living and continuing care retirement developments.
David attended Purdue University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Building Construction Management.
Kevin Gass's Bio
As Vice President of Operations for Cadence McShane Construction, Kevin manages the Dallas business unit operations by providing general oversight and guidance to the project management teams. He also serves as a mentor and technical resource to all operations staff and provides leadership through project concerns or risks.

Stephanie Fox's Bio
Stephanie Fox oversees the financial management and construction accounting functions for the firm, as well as directing the firm’s relationships with outside financial entities. She supervises a professional staff of accounting associates dedicated to processing the complex financial transactions that occur throughout the construction process. Additionally, Stephanie works with the firm’s management team to lead, plan and direct the course of the company’s business strategies.
Stephanie has had professional experience in accounting since 1996 and has been in the commercial construction industry since 2001. Her strong financial planning and analysis background provides expert leadership for Cadence McShane’s treasury functions.
Stephanie attended Texas Christian University where she received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. She is also a Certified Public Accountant.

John Schmidt's Bio
John Schmidt is responsible for the leadership of the firm’s comprehensive safety program. He ensures that safe and productive working conditions are maintained at each Cadence McShane job site by conducting regular site visits to oversee procedures and serves as the point person for each project superintendent.
John has 23 years of commercial construction experience and joined Cadence McShane in 1998. He has served in various safety-related positions both on and off project job sites. John applies his expertise to direct site safety procedures as well as provide on-going safety training to the firm’s project management and field employees.
John manages safety documents related to OSHA and AGC requirements and maintains Cadence McShane’s Safety Manual that is used at each project site. John also participates in all OSHA site inspections and follow-up conferences.
John attended Texas A&M University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Construction Science.
