Scope Of Work
Cadence McShane Construction Company has completed Barbara Jordan High School for Careers located in Houston, Texas. The two phased project included construction of a one-of-a-kind, two-story technical high school that is targeting LEED Silver certification for Houston ISD.
The first phase of construction consisted of building the new 120,000-square-foot high school adjacent to the existing high school facility. The technical school facility features lab space for a variety of programs such as Auto/Diesel, Audio/Visual, Construction Management, Cosmetology, STEM, and Welding. On-site there is also a human science wing for allied health and medical biotech, and classrooms for video production. The second phase of work consisted of demolishing the existing high school, and providing additional parking and site work once the original building was demolished.
