President and Owner of MAC Inspection and Welding Agency, LLC (also known as MIWA).  Michael Coleman is also the Operator of MIWA and performs the following: Manages day to operation of the office and field, inspects Boiler, Pressure Vessels, Piping & Structural Steel Components to any Code under the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and the American Welding Society (AWS) Codes. MIWA can also perform Federal & State Inspections, Annual Safety Inspections, Operational & Casualty Inspections and ASME “R” Inspections or Third Party Inspections and Quality Control Inspections.

Michael Coleman also can qualify welders to the above Code Standards and provide their Certifications.

CAREER HISTORY

Green Contracting – Service Engineer & Q. C. Manager (Nov 2008 – Aug 2012)

• Responsible for Managing (QCM) the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and American Welding Society (AWS) Welding Programs, through a Quality System. Performed all weld inspections, quality control inspections and ASME documentation and Inspections.

• Responsible for certifying welder qualifications and development of welding procedures through meticulous training and monitoring of personnel.

• Managed the Computer Engineering Welding Pro-Write Software to ensure that all welder continuity records are updated and welding procedures are correctly certified.

Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection and Insurance Co. (April 2003 – Nov 2008)

• Managed over 40 ASME clients ranging from the National Board “R” Stamp to the ASME “H”, “U”, “S” and “PP” Stamps.

• Conducted thousands of “R” Stamp inspections, including boiler and pressure vessel alterations.

• Responsible for reviewing and accepting Engineering calculations for new pressure vessel designs and alterations to existing vessels.

• Ensured that each client was in compliance with ASME, National Board and State Regulations.

Prior to working for Hartford Steam Boiler and Inspection Company I served in The United States Navy

from 1983 through February 2003. I retired from the Navy as a Senior Chief. During my naval career Iwas stationed in the Mediterranean constantly advancing my career. During my tenure in the Navy I was assigned to diesel and steam driven ships where I developed my experience in welding and ASME pressure vessels. • Conducted thousands of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Safety Inspections in MD, VA and DC

• Re-calculated/De-rated Jessup Correctional Facility Steam Plant Boilers (4) with new limit control switches, safety relief valves and operationally tested each boiler controls IAW CSD-1. The successful de-rating of each boiler was stamped with new operational limits (non-National Board stamping). Following the certification of the boilers the newly installed main steam piping, around the entire Facility, was tested and then allowed to be put into service. This saved millions of dollars in replacing the new steam piping. (2012)

• Coordinated efforts in obtaining the Dover AFB Revitalization Contract (2010 - 2012)

• Maintained both ASME and D1.1 welding data bases (2008-2012)

• Managed several gas, water and steam piping repairs and alterations to ASME and D1.1 Codes (2008-2012)

• Managed the manufacturing, repairing and altering of over 40 ASME/National Board boilers, pressure vessels (2008-2012)

• Managed Code Compliant repairs Veolia Energy Power Plants boilers and pressure vessels (2008-2012)

• Qualified two (2) welders to perform welding on a Nuclear Reactor Cooling Tank utilizing the GTAW process with copper and aluminum material.The original copper material was non-existent but through meticulous research a current material was compatible and excepted by the Nuclear Certified Agency. The alteration was successful (2011)

• Researched dissimilar materials used in the original construction of a European Cement Mixer, built under CE Standards, to write and qualify a welder to perform alteration repairs to the mixer. The alterations were successful (2010 – 2011)

• Re-calculated and repaired 10 hot water converter tanks to bring Baltimore Housing Units into Code Compliance (2010 – 2011)

• Qualified various welders to perform D1.1 welding and maintained their continuity records (2009)

• Performed thousands of Quality Control Inspections to ASME, AWS Standards to include boilers, pressure vessels and piping systems with zero malfunctions (2003 – current)
