Scope Of Work
The scope of this project entailed demo and asbestos removal on the existing elevator structures and track. Temp Stairs and Power during construction. New crossing bridge with new glass-walled elevator shafts and cabs for both tracks. Ground-up EMR rooms on both Eastbound and Westbound.
The ground was too cold during the winter months to excavate for the elevator shafts. A greenhouse-like structure was erected to mitigate the cold weather and warm the soil for excavation.
The LIRR was very happy with the finished project. A press conference was held for the announcement and was highlighted on the front page of their website.
