Jim was graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in Civil Engineering. He spent 13 years as a construction company project manager and vice president before starting J. A. Street & Associates in 1985. Jim is highly regarded as a successful manager and businessman, and has served on many community boards. His community work has been recognized with receipt of the Boys & Girls Club Zella Moore Arnold Award, National Service to Youth Award, and American National Medallion; named by the Business Journal as “One of the Twenty-Five Most Powerful Male Executives”, and is a Junior Achievement Business Hall of Fame inductee. When not at the office or on a job site, you may find Jim on the golf course or at a VT game.
