Jon Thomas's Bio
A change agent and admitted nerd, Jon thrives in the world of organizational structure and analytics, using data to drive business growth. His analytics expertise is supported by a strong foundation in real estate operations, design, marketing, and management. As Branded Group’s president, Jon utilizes data to develop and measure key performance indicators, increasing operational efficiency and assisting the company on it’s continuous journey to #BeBetter.
In his former role as a senior director overseeing operations and business process at a retail facilities maintenance company, Jon worked with functional leaders in defining and optimizing business processes to meet aggressive financial metrics. He also assessed process gaps to improve the performance of a given function such as cost, billing, and net retention. Jon collaborated with business leaders and the executive team to lead the selection, implementation, integration and operations of all systems of record including work order management, customer relations, finance, business intelligence, and supply chains.
With over fourteen years of industry experience, Jon is known for his uncanny ability to motivate teams to achieve more, working smarter and playing harder. He believes that when a business operates efficiently the results are unparalleled – teams enjoy their work and customers enjoy working with the team. He leads with an attitude of servant leadership, listening first and then developing a plan to meet the needs of the organization, and it’s most important resources, its people.
Jon likes to cook, watch documentaries, and play the drums. He’s also learning how to play the piano, but, at this rate, is not sure how long it will take.
Michael Kurland's Bio
An entrepreneur who mortgaged his life savings for his first company, Co-Founder and CEO Michael Kurland launched Branded Group in 2014 with a sincere desire to #BeBetter.
He believed he could better serve customers while making a social impact within the community. With more than a decade of expertise in the retail and supply industries, Michael knew that his emphasis on client communication and building mutually beneficial relationships would provide a solid foundation for the company’s growth. Now three years in and 30 employees strong, Branded Group continues to experience exponential growth.
In his previous executive-level position as Vice President of Sales and Marketing at a nationwide facilities maintenance and management company, Michael helped increase revenues from one million to 50 million, and he was responsible for 40% growth in customer acquisition. This role was on the heels of his success as Maintenance Manager at Jones Apparel Group where he maintained more than 350 retail locations across the U.S. and was then promoted to Junior Real Estate Manager.
Michael is also committed to the advancement of the facilities industry, serving as a member of the PRSM networking committee. He developed its LA networking event and previously assisted with PRSM’s New York networking events since inception.
He graduated from Lynchburg College and is a member of Phi Delta Theta. In his free time he enjoys all that the great outdoors of Orange County has to offer.
Operations
Andra Bereznay's Bio
Branded Group’s Vice President of Operations Andra Bereznay manages customer relationships with a sincere commitment to consistent communication, superior service, and innovative solutions for retail construction needs. She oversees the growing construction department, manages the customer team, communicates with clients, vendors, and construction teams, and maintains that customer projects are on time and within budget. With more than 15 years of experience managing client accounts in the construction and facility industries, Andra utilizes her extensive expertise to assist Branded Group clients to “Be Better.”
She was previously Branded Group’s director of operations, a position she was promoted to after beginning with the company as an account manager. In her director role, Andra oversaw the daily internal operations of the continuously expanding Branded Group team.
Before joining Branded Group, Andra served as a project manager. She provided oversight for every aspect of new store construction from bidding and awarding contracts to vendor management and closeout packages. She ensured every project was completed on time and on budget. From new store construction to small rollouts, she has simultaneously managed over 20 accounts, all of which ran on different platforms including Service Channel and 360.
As a Cal State Fullerton graduate, Andra enjoys spending time with her family and being active outdoors.
Corey Perez's Bio
Corey Perez, Branded Group’s Manager of Operations, oversees service operations to ensure that exceptional service levels are continuously achieved and that the #BeBetter discipline is applied with clients and his team. Utilizing his industry experience and passion for the #BeBetter approach, he focuses on developing strategies that continually fuel business growth through identifying trends, analyzing forecasts, and other client key performance indicators.
Prior to his current role, Corey served as Account Supervisor in which he managed the Branded Group facility coordinators team ensuring service levels were met or exceeded through keen attention to daily operations and providing insightful business intelligence to senior management. In this role, he was also responsible for identifying new accounts based on volume trends and customer needs.
Corey began his career at Branded Group as a Facility Coordinator – a role that benefitted from his outstanding communication and customer service skills. In this position, he was responsible for all customer maintenance requests and roll-outs for multi-trade projects. His many accolades from customers for his attention to detail caught the eye of senior management.
A self-described “life learner,” Corey is committed to the #BeBetter approach not only for himself, but fostering this by mentoring his entire operations team.
Corey is a committed volunteer with Habitat for Humanity of Orange County. A California native, he currently resides in Laguna Niguel, California and enjoys the outdoors with family, friends and his dogs. Corey is an avid traveler and adventurer.
Business Development, Marketing & Sales
Jonny Rosero's Bio
Jonny Rosero, Branded Group’s Executive Business Analyst, is responsible for business and process optimization to ensure all departments are performing within target operating and financial metrics. Jonny works cross-functionally to assess gaps and identify improvements to service quality, life-cycle, cost, billing, and net retention. In addition to the development and implemention of standard operating procedures, he works closely with his team to deliver results in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
As a change agent with a passion for data analytics, Jonny strives to continually improve individual and company-wide business performance. During his tenure at Branded Group, he streamlined accounting processes resulting in >$1mm in receivables, created a new vendor management function to enhance vendor relations, and improved internal and external communications by enhancing client and vendor reporting.
Jonny began his career in sales followed by a financial analyst position at a national facility maintenance company where he quickly rose up the ranks and was recognized as Rookie of the Year. He was a committed volunteer in his hometown of Bellport, Long Island where he served as a football and basketball coach as well as tutored at-risk children. He currently lives in Costa Mesa where he enjoys exploring California, spending time on the beach with his dog, having fun with amazing people and geeking out on the Internet.
Kiira Esposito's Bio
Kiira Esposito is Vice President of Business Development and co-founder of Branded Group. Kiira’s expertise in business development, facilities management, construction, and business operations has contributed to Branded Group’s growth to nearly 60 employees. She is responsible for the development and delivery of internal skills-based educational programs for new and existing team members. These programs include thorough needs assessments to determine skill levels, hands-on training for in-house applications, detailed documentation for business processes, and ongoing evaluation to monitor progress. Additionally, Kiira develops comprehensive management training curriculum to assist employees on a leadership career path.
Previously, as Vice President of Operations, Kiira facilitated the rapid growth of the company from its infancy. Her responsibilities included recruiting, training, and building programs to attract and retain key talent. Kiira was also responsible for daily operations, which included service call management, capital projects, and client rollouts.
With more than a decade of facility maintenance and management experience, Kiira began her career at nationwide facilities maintenance and management company, where she was quickly promoted from coordinator to supervisor. Prior to this, she was Vice President of Operations for First Service Maintenance Group, where she managed more than forty accounts and led a team responsible for the end-to-end client experience. As the Business Development Manager, Kiira managed a growing account base by serving as an extension of the account team.
Kiira is actively involved in industry trade associations. She is the Co-Chair of the Restaurant Facility Management Association’s (RFMA) Female in Facilities Group and a member of Professional Retail Store Maintenance Association (PRSM).
