David is a licensed general contractor in Georgia with over 40 years of experience in the construction business. He grew up in Sandusky, Ohio, and later moved to Cleveland, where he earned a degree in fine arts and did post graduate work in urban studies at Cleveland State University. He purchased a circa 1886 24-unit apartment building and launched a ten-year campaign of restoration. He converted the building from vacant and nearly condemned to fully restored and designated a landmark, with a tenant waiting list. David also worked with Cleveland city officials to designate the surrounding neighborhood the City's first registered landmark district, while heading a neighborhood organization actively engaged in economic revitalization. He later relocated to New York City and continued his work on fine residential renewal for eleven years. He enrolled at F.I.T. , where he studied interior design and architectural drawing with some of the City's top designers.
David and Bloomquist Construction are EPA certified by the Environmental Institute in Lead Renovation, Repair and Painting. With this certification he is properly trained in lead safe work practices.
