Scope Of Work

The Architecture and Engineering firm, Harrison French & Associates, relocated to an existing retail building supply facility with the intent of achieving ® certification. While the design team utilized high-efficiency fixtures and mechanical systems and specified environmentally responsible materials, Baldwin & Shell committed to the firm’s ® initiative by implementing a construction waste management plan. The construction team sorted on-site the demolished building materials. Metals and cardboard products were transferred to a local recycling facility, while crushed concrete and asphalt were repurposed as infill to an existing ramped loading dock. The building’s indoor air quality was maintained by protecting the new and existing HVAC systems during construction, utilizing products with low VOC content and regular housekeeping. In January 2015, the design and construction team received a ® Gold Rating by the United States Green Building Council.
