Scope Of Work

A 7,800 square-foot office renovation in a new cardiology center in the Granite Building in New Hyde Park, NY, represents a beautiful addition to projects we have completed for a long-time healthcare client. The space at 1999 Marcus Avenue was completely demolished and renovated with new mechanical, electrical, plumbing, sprinklers and fire alarm systems. Our work supports new doctor’s offices, exam rooms, ECHO and EECP rooms, hot lab and nuclear camera rooms, as well as staff and patient restrooms. In the now-spacious and welcoming reception area and at MA stations, project finishes are highlighted by custom millwork and accented with special-order custom resin wall panel systems.

Working in an occupied building often comes with critical phasing and coordination challenges. At times, the oncology suite on the floor below was occupied. Through careful and considerate coordination with the building and staff, Eastman Cooke performed its work without any complications or interruption to patients. Late in the project, the building owners presented major challenges regarding duct routing through the building and the need to convert light fixtures to an emergency ballast rather than connecting them to the building generator. Eastman Cooke’s project management team met these changes head on. Through an effective re-design, we implemented the required changes with minimal impact and brought to completion another successful project.
