Chris Bibeau's Bio
Chris Bibeau is the Arizona Regional Director for DSI. He has more than 27 years of experience in the construction industry. Chris takes pride in understanding each client’s needs and desires for all aspects of any project being discussed. Prior to joining DSI, he worked as a construction manager for Sempra Energy, Senior Project Manager for a design/build data center contractor and a field electrician. Chris is a licensed Electrical C-10 and General B-1 State of California contractor.
Phil Rafferty's Bio
Phil Rafferty is President and Co-Founder for DSI, and has more than 30 years of experience in the data center business. Prior to co-founding DSI in 1991, he was the General Manager for a Los Angeles-based data center electrical contractor. In addition to running the company, Phil leads DSI’s key projects from design through completion. He also encourages the company’s efforts to expand its geographic presence.
Ric Maxson's Bio
Ric Maxson is Co-founder, Owner and Operations Lead for DSI, one of the country’s most successful data center design/build companies and electrical contractors. Ric has been instrumental in nearly every major project the firm has completed over the company’s rich history.
His long-standing commitment to deliver the highest levels of integrity on every project undertaken has enabled DSI to become a trusted leader among data center design/build and electrical/cabling specialists. Under Ric’s expert guidance, DSI has earned a stellar reputation for reliability and innovation.
A Certified Data Center Design professional, Ric has worked in the data center and low voltage cabling industries for more than 30 years. Previously, he was a Major Accounts Manager with a Los Angeles-based data center electrical contractor before partnering with Phil Rafferty to establish DSI.
Ric is a nationally known and respected expert in data center construction, with an emphasis on electrical systems. He is also an avid skier, having tackled most of the country’s major mountains.

Brent Ciulei's Bio
Brent Ciulei is Electrical Services Manager for DSI. He is a key Project Manager who oversees new and expansion data center initiatives from design through close-out documentation. Among his responsibilities, Brent manages quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC), tracks budgets and maintains schedules in real-time. He also is in charge of construction document preparation, job site inspections, local permitting and technical reviews to ensure that projects are completed on budget and on time. Prior to DSI, his experience included tenures with an Orange County, California-based data center fire suppression and electrical consulting firm, as well as, a Los Angeles data center electrical contractor.
Jim Dunn's Bio
Jim Dunn is lead Project Manager for DSI where he oversees some of the largest and most complex design and installation projects. Working on new and expanding data centers and data storage facilities, Jim specializes in evaluating, planning, design and construction of complete data centers. He selects and manages his project teams to ensure that assignments are completed on time and on budget, and to the client’s full satisfaction. Jim has more than 22 years of industry experience. Prior to DSI, he served as an IT Project Manager for a Fortune 1000 company, and he has worked with clients throughout Southern California and across numerous industries.
Jim Pocock's Bio
Jim Pocock is the Northern California Regional Director, as well as, Lead Manager on projects in the region for DSI. He oversees the design and build – as well as expansions, consolidations, changes and additions – of data centers and high technology facilities of all sizes from sales to facility commissioning. Under Jim’s direction, the company recently earned it’s “oil refinery” level safety rating. He is DSI’s Northern California Safety Officer. Jim is a licensed general contractor in California.
Juan Vega 's Bio
As Service Manager for Data Specialties Inc., Juan Vega oversees all of DSI’s preventative maintenance services. In addition to assessing current and prospective customers’ needs, Juan manages proposals, contracts and service providers to ensure that data centers and other critical facilities are receiving the maintenance and attention they require. He also manages our client contracts and relationships, and oversees the internal staffing for the reliable 24/7 response capability for which DSI has become known.
Scott Koons's Bio
Scott Koons is Construction Project Manager for DSI where he oversees new and expansion data center projects from design through closeout documentation. Among key projects he has managed have been DreamWorks Animation SKG, Navy Marine Corp Internet, National University, ICU Medical, Las Vegas Review Journal and Swedish Health Services. Scott has more than 15 years of construction management experience and has been managing data center projects since 2001. Prior to joining DSI in 2005, he served as a Project Manager for a San Diego-based data center electrical contractor.
Steve Clark's Bio
Steve Clark is a Project Manager for DSI where he oversees infrastructure cabling initiatives – from sales through commissioning and maintenance. Among major projects he managed were Stater Brothers and Santa Ana Unified School District. Steve has been working in the cabling (voice/data/fiber/CATV) and networking industries since 1983. Prior to joining DSI in 2004, Steve served as project manager for Kaiser Permanente’s National Health Connect System and also as president of a Southern California cabling design/install firm. He is a licensed electrical contractor and is certified by numerous networking/telecom, security, fire alarm and paging systems manufacturers’ authorized programs.
Tim Prokopow's Bio
Tim Prokopow, Project Manager, has over 25 years in the electrical/data center industry. Prior to joining DSI, Tim performed project manager duties at a Los Angeles area data center electrical contractor and an Orange County Mission Critical contractor. Tim is versed in all aspects of Mission Critical systems, Electrical, Mechanical, Suppression, Detection, Structured cabling and monitoring. Tim manages projects from conception through testing and project close-out. Tim has successfully completed projects for large health care corporations, communication providers, government contractors, aerospace developers and private companies. Customer satisfaction is first for a successful project.
Vern Koops's Bio
Vern Koops is Project Superintendent for DSI where he is responsible for electrical systems and low-voltage cabling projects. He provides project management and general supervision of electricians and installers on tasks of all sizes and levels of complexity. Vern has more than 25 years of experience in the industry. He joined DSI in 1990, and was instrumental in opening the Northern California office in 1996. He currently is on-site Project Manager for projects outside of California.

Sharon Tye's Bio
Sharon Tye is the Southern California Business Development representative in charge of establishing professional relationships with customers, vendors and executives within the mission critical industry. She is responsible for developing new business throughout the nine counties in the Southern California region. Sharon has more than 20 years of experience in the industry. Her background includes directing multi-million dollar sales growth in both a sales capacity, as well as a business management capacity, creating effective sales programs, developing accounts, and increasing organizational revenue within highly competitive markets. Sharon’s previous experience includes a long-term position as Vice President of Operations for CORE Support Systems, Inc., a premier data center equipment Manufacturer’s Rep, as well as a position as Field Sales Representative for Liebert Corporation at their factory direct office in Pleasanton, California.

Jon McSweeny's Bio
Jon McSweeny is the Business Administrator for DSI. His primary focus is working with DSI customers and primary business partners to make certain that all DSI installations meet all customer expectations. As a licensed attorney, Jon is able to ensure that all projects meet city, state, and federal regulations with respect to the construction and operation of facilities. Along with his qualifications as a general contractor, he has more than 20 years of experience in the design and construction of data centers, including extensive background in cabling and network infrastructure.
