Scope Of Work
Dr. Joe Bernal Middle School is a 191,350 SF new middle school which provides cutting-edge educational resources for the Northside Independent School District students it serves. Bartlett Cocke General Contractors is proud to have been a part of this project. Amenities for this TX-CHPS recognized school include 2 gymnasiums, weight room, cafeteria, wood shop, modern science labs, library, 2 football fields, 2 tennis courts and 2 outdoor basketball courts. Designed by Alamo Architects, an innovative feature of the school is its 7,200 square foot garden with two garden storage rooms. School gardens have been shown to provide an alternative learning environment and increase test scores. The creative courtyard design is representative of the Solar System, with each planet indicated by a plaque showing its scaled distance from the sun.
