Michael E. McKelvy 's Bio
Michael McKelvy is president and chief executive officer of Gilbane Building Company. He joined the company in 2014 as president and chief operating officer. He has spent his entire career in the architecture and construction industry, bringing a broad-based background in both domestic and international markets, and vertical and horizontal construction. He has construction experience worldwide in more than 20 countries and expertise in a variety of delivery methods including design-build and also brings expertise in a wide range of market segments, many that parallel Gilbane’s current markets and others that present opportunities for future growth.
Mike is responsible for developing and executing the company’s annual business plan and he oversees the executive vice presidents and president of Gilbane’s federal and global operations, giving him oversight of profit and loss company-wide.
Prior to joining Gilbane, Mike was the chief delivery officer (CDO) of CH2M HILL which has 26,000 employees working on six continents. He also served as executive vice president for all of CH2M HILL’s U.S. Federal delivery. A member of CH2M HILL’s Board of Directors, he was responsible for profit/loss and delivery for global regions (including the United States), global construction, global Operations and Maintenance and Strategic Consulting and served as director of corporate risk, safety, security, procurement, project controls, design and quality. During his 26 years there, he also served as president and group chief executive for the Government, Environment, Nuclear and Transportation divisions.
A registered architect, Mike holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Design from Oklahoma University and a Bachelor of Architecture from Louisiana Tech University. He is also a supporter of Meeting Street in Providence, Rhode Island where he is chairman of the Board of Trustees.
Paul J. Choquette III's Bio
Paul oversees all business and sales strategies for the Mid-Atlantic region including Washington, D.C., Maryland and Pennsylvania. In addition, Paul is responsible for our Transition Planning & Management (TPM) and Facilities Management Service (FMS) consulting services and leads our national strategy around public private partnerships. A fifth-generation Gilbane family member, he is an active participant in the community and industry organizations. Paul holds a Bachelor of Arts from Brown University and a Master of Business Administration from Northeastern University.
Paul serves as chairman for the ACE Mentor Program of Washington, D.C., and is the executive sponsor of Gilbane’s company-wide Black/African American Employee Resource Group. He is on multiple boards and serves on the Executive Board of the Federal City Council. Paul supports an innovative and inclusive culture so that teams have a safe space to explore new ideas and tools to increase productivity and efficiency. Paul believes business transformations happen when teams feel comfortable leaning into responsible risks and being solutions-driven.
Thomas M. Laird's Bio
Tom Laird, Jr. oversees the firm’s Central/Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, Southwest and Western offices where his operational responsibility includes profit and loss and ensuring the execution of the company’s ‘One Company’ vision, strategy and business plan. He also oversees Gilbane Reconstruction Services which provides clients with disaster response services.
Prior to becoming an executive vice president 2012, Tom served as senior vice president/regional manager for Gilbane’s Central Region where he led a six-state area that, during his tenure, experienced steady growth and was consistently ranked the #1 builder in Cleveland and Columbus and recognized as one of the area’s best places to work. He has an impressive portfolio of experience working with clients including the World Bank and the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center in Washington, D.C.; the Baltimore Convention Center, Baltimore, MD; the Cleveland Clinic Data Center, Cleveland Museum of Art, Flats East Bank Development, the University Hospitals’ Ahuja Medical Center, and Seidman Cancer Center, all in Cleveland, OH; and the Goodyear Tire & Rubber World Headquarters in Akron, OH.
Tom serves as board chairman for the ACE Mentor Program of Cleveland and in 2012 was the recipient of the Medical Mutual Pillar Award for Non-Profit Board Executive of the Year for his work with ACE. He also serves on the board of the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission, the Providence House and the Cuyahoga Community College Foundation. He is an active volunteer with Rebuilding Together Cleveland; a past member of the Finance Council at Holy Trinity Parish in Cleveland and a past board member and chairman of the Facilities Committee at Saint Joseph Academy in Cleveland. He also is on the Legacy Council at Providence House. Tom holds a bachelor’s degree in construction management from the University of Cincinnati and earned a master’s degree in real estate from Johns Hopkins University.

Dennis Cornick's Bio
Dennis Cornick provides hands-on leadership to all of Gilbane’s business development teams, serves as the liaison to the executive management team on sales activities and is the executive liaison to the sales leader’s peer group. He administers the Gilbane University sales training program and is actively involved in business development manager recruitment and development. Dennis directs Gilbane’s Center of Excellence leaders in various market segments and oversees the company’s marketing and corporate communication efforts.
With more than 30 years of experience as a business developer in the A/E/C industry, Dennis has been with Gilbane since 1990 and previously served as senior manager of business development and regional business development manager for multiple Gilbane regions. Cornick was the visionary leader behind the creation and evolution of centralizing Gilbane’s sales and marketing services group, establishment of a doer/seller service approach, formulating a national account program, and expanding Gilbane’s presence in major cities across the United States. He was also one of the early drivers of Gilbane’s “One Company Approach” — a concept that has re-defined how employees interact with each other across the company and leverage the power of Gilbane to differentiate itself and provide value to its clients. Notable projects/clients he has been involved with include: New York City School Construction Authority; New Jersey Department of Community Affairs; New York State Office of General Services; Dormitory Authority of the State of New York; New Jersey School Development Authority; State University of New York Construction Fund; the historic renovation of the New Jersey State House; Essex County Correctional Facility; Parsippany Schools; and Rutgers University Football Stadium Expansion. Dennis is currently acting as principal-in-charge for multiple ongoing Gilbane projects in New York and New Jersey, including the Hurricane Sandy Disaster Recovery work for the State of New Jersey.

Michael M. Costello 's Bio
Mike is responsible for maintaining the quality and timeliness of the internal reporting and controls, monthly financial reports with forecast data, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cost, payroll and joint venture accounting. He is also responsible for the administration and internal maintenance and development of all national accounts for office equipment, office supplies, travel and travel-related services. A Certified Public Accountant, Mike earned a Bachelor of Arts in Industrial Psychology from California State University and his Master of Business Administration/Finance from California Polytechnic University.
Mike has a proven track record of delivering top and bottom-line growth for both large and small companies in the U.S. and overseas.
