Kirk Moll has been a key member and leader of the Phoenix Contractors team since 1986. He was an estimator and project manager for our company before becoming our vice president in charge of construction services.

Kirk has led construction across the full scope of our work, including municipal buildings, car dealerships, banks, stores, restaurants, hotels, office complexes, laboratories, warehouses, light industrial facilities, single-family and multi-family residences, recreational facilities, museums, and restoration and renovation projects.

Kirk’s excellence in project management has been recognized with awards from the Washtenaw Contractors Association (WCA) and the American Institute of Architects (AIA). A residence in Ann Arbor whose construction was managed by Kirk was featured in Architectural Digest.

Before joining Phoenix Contractors, Kirk was a land planner and construction technician for MacArthur Foundation in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida; a construction superintendent for Ideal Construction Company of West Bloomfield, Michigan; a carpenter for Gores Carpentry of West Bloomfield; and a field surveyor for Basney and Smith, Inc. of Detroit.

Kirk studied construction technology at Eastern Michigan University and architecture at Henry Ford Community College. He also completed a carpenter’s apprenticeship program in Detroit.

Mark Hiser joined Phoenix Contractors in 1996. Today, as president of our firm, he works to ensure our on-time, within-budget completion of construction projects for clients in the transportation, commercial, retail, service, health care, residential, public, religious, academic, and industrial arenas, among others.

Mark’s fine work has been recognized with a Pyramid Award for “Best Project Team” from the Washtenaw Contractors Association (WCA). He has also been honored with a Design & Construction Showcase Award.

Previously, Mark taught construction management at Eastern Michigan University, and was a vice president and project manager for Freeman Darling Construction.

Mark earned a Bachelor of Science degree in construction management from Eastern Michigan University in 1986. He has served as a curricular advisory board member at EMU, an industrial relation committee member and education committee member for the American General Contractors Association, and an education committee member for the Washtenaw Contractors Association.

Brian Wright has been with Phoenix Contractors since 1998. His skills in project management and estimating have driven our success in construction and renovation projects for stores, office suites, corporate headquarters, professional services firms, schools, clinics, churches, recreational facilities, public markets, and more.

Brian’s work in managing the renovation of The Racquet Club of Ann Arbor earned this praise from the client: “Brian is a fantastic person to work with. At times he seemed to work miracles. Our project was finished a week ahead of schedule.”

Brian previously worked as a project manager and estimator for Krull Construction Co., and as an inside and outside sales representative for Ersco Corp.

Brian studied business management at Lansing Community College. He has served the Washtenaw Contractors Association in various capacities, including as a member of the organization’s board of directors.

Chuck Schimmel has managed projects for Phoenix Contractors since 2000. He has achieved successful results in everything from historic restoration at Greenfield Village in Dearborn and The Flour Mill in Ypsilanti, to an extensive range of construction and renovation projects at the University of Michigan. This has included some of the university’s most prominent administrative, academic, medical, and housing buildings.

Chuck has also managed projects in the commercial, retail, service, residential, public, recreational, and religious realms.

Chuck previously worked as an estimator for JC Beal Construction in Ann Arbor, CASS in Detroit, and Joson Construction in Dearborn. He began his career in construction work for Minster Construction in Waterford, Michigan.

Chuck earned a Bachelor of Science degree in finance in 1988, followed by a Master of Science degree in construction management in 1991– both from Eastern Michigan University.

Chris Love joined Phoenix Contractors as a field superintendent in 1998, after having worked as a lead carpenter for The Perkins Construction Company of Ann Arbor, and as a freelance construction carpenter.

Chris has supervised work involving commercial, retail, service, public, religious, academic, and residential building. These projects have entailed renovations and restorations, as well as new construction.

Chris studied at Washtenaw Community College. He is certified by the American Red Cross to administer standard first aid and adult CPR/AED.

Chris is a journeyman carpenter and a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Local 687.
