Árbol De La Vida and Likins Hall

Project Information

Project Location:
Tucson, AZ
Status:
Completed
Structure Type:
Club House / Community Center

Scope Of Work

The Arbol De La Vida and Likins Hall project, built for the University of Arizona, included the new construction of two six-story, 332,925 square foot undergraduate residence halls located in Tucson, AZ. The facilities house over 1,000 students attending the university. The residence halls were constructed using local materials and traditional red brick cladding. The project features traditional suite style double rooms and bathrooms as well as ADA accessible rooms. Other features consist of lounges, lobbies, study rooms, kitchen/dining spaces, laundry rooms, conference rooms, recreational rooms, and enclosed outdoor spaces to meet student needs. The project achieved LEED Platinum Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council for environmentally efficient storm water capture, daylighting and climate management systems, and indoor courtyards. Due to the incorporation of ADA accessible accommodations, Arbol de la Vida and Likins Hall now accommodate the highest percentage of collegiate students with disabilities in the State of Arizona.
