Scope Of Work
The new home of the Detroit Lions is a one-of-a-kind 65,000 seat facility that includes a giant glass wall, overlooking the picturesque Detroit skyline, and the old Hudson’s warehouse built in 1920. The warehouse will house the luxury suites, press box, restaurants, food courts, lounge areas, retail and office space. This 1.8 million square foot concrete and steel frame structure was built on caissons extending to a depth of 125 feet. The stadium roof rises to nearly 170 feet above the playing surface, and is supported by the structural concrete frame that uses in excess of 58,000 cubic yards of cast-in-place concrete. The scope of self-perform services by Colasanti included all stadium substructure and superstructure concrete, stadium floor, concourse areas and all miscellaneous concrete work for the stadium proper.
