Scope Of Work

The El Monte community is proud of its Spanish heritage. The junior high needed to expand, but the school administrators had two core requirements: they wanted to maintain the Spanish architecture of the old campus design and they needed to do it on a tight budget.

AMS worked with the District’s architect to design and install two modular classroom wings adjoining a new design-built administration center, achieving a cohesive feel with a complementary adobe palette, exterior wainscoting and columns that give the multi-use structure a rustic façade. A front loggia and metal tile roof with 8’ overhangs provide a student-friendly environment, while preserving the old Spanish feel.
