Scope Of Work
The Olson Center for Undergraduate Excellence occupies a prominent location on the University Esplanade at Kent State University. Along with our consultant Annette Miller Architects, we worked closely with the University to come up with a new design for the Center that will create a pedestrian-friendly entrance embracing the Esplanade that reflects a cohesive, contemporary, and welcoming identity for the Office of Undergraduate Studies. Within the Center, the building that was originally built as a dining hall has been redesigned into collaborative spaces that foster learning and collegiate success. An intuitive circulation pattern and thoughtfully-placed corridors allow the interior spaces to be filled with natural light, secure yet accessible, and suited to the programmatic needs of several departments that are housed within the building. The project is on track to become LEED Silver certified.
